Hazed and Confused

Feeling All the Feels

I gulped. Uh oh.

JJ looked down at his hands, wringing them nervously.

"About what?" I asked, my voice coming out in barely a whisper. He finally looked up, meeting my eyes. I could see him mustering up the courage to form words, but he was struggling.

"Fuck it." he gritted out after a moment of struggling. He suddenly grabbed my face, and pulled me into a scorching kiss. His hand reached into my hair while the other grabbed my waist and he pulled me into his lap. I immediately began kissing him back, wrapping my arms around his neck. Finally.

"I really like you", he managed to get out in between kisses.

"I really like you, too," I whispered back, giggling.

We went back to making out, swaying slightly due to the movement of the bench swing.

"Cassidy, are you out here? Ca-OH MY GOD!"

JJ and I sprang apart, startled. To my surprise, I flinched backward, and immediately fell off of his lap and into the grass. Allison stood staring at us, with huge eyes and a gaping mouth. JJ and I blushed, embarrassed.

"Get it girl," Allison smirked, and turned around and went back into the house.

JJ and I looked at each other in shock, and immediately started laughing hysterically. Tears streamed down my face as I held my sides and rocked backwards, still sitting on the ground, I was gaping for air, but every time I looked over to JJ and saw him laughing I laughed harder.

"Sorry, Allison" I gasped, continuing to laugh. Our laughing eventually died down to just giggling, and I picked myself up off the lawn and sat next to JJ on the swing. He immediately threw an arm around me and hugged me to him, placing his other hand on my knee. I leaned my head onto his shoulder, and we were silent for a moment, just swinging.

"Wanna give this a try?" JJ asked, finally breaking the silence.

"What do you mean?," I asked, looking up at him.

"Us. Like, i'm not saying labels, but we could give it a try. Maybe be exclusive?"

I smiled at him, and pressed a light kiss to his cheek.

"I think I'm cool with that."

I went home giddy and in a daze after my talk with JJ. I haven't stopped smiling all night. While he wasn't officially my boyfriend, we were exclusively seeing each other, and that was good enough for me right now. I hoped with all my heart that eventually he would become my boyfriend, but I didn't want to get my hopes up just yet. This was the perfect opportunity for JJ and I to get to know each other, and I was excited to uncover what made JJ him.
