Hey, my lovelies. Ask, and you shall receive. This is for the readers who requested a continuation of Happier. It wasn't in the plan, so it was written quickly. I hope y'all enjoy it anyway.
People break up for numerous reasons, but the outcome of those reasons doesn't have to be set in stone. The biggest lesson to learn is that people don't change people; time does. Time heals and time reveals. So be patient, and if it's meant to be, the love will return to you.
Months had passed, and life was going fairly well for Fantasia and Taraji. It was a struggle being apart for the both of them, but they hid it well. The distance between them was only making their love for one another grow stronger. Because real love never dies. That's what Fantasia kept telling herself in order to get through each day.
Taraji wanted to forgive and forget, but her heart couldn’t take being broken again. So she focused on herself and her career. People asked her out on dates frequently, but she could never find the courage to say yes. Even after all the hurt, Fantasia was still her one true love. She couldn’t waste other people’s time and energy, allowing them to think that they actually had a chance with her when they didn't. Her heart already belonged to someone else.
“I still love you.”
Those words replayed in Fantasia’s head over and over again. Taraji still loves me. That thought gave her hope. So she was hellbent on doing everything within her power to get her girl back. It wouldn’t be easy, but Taraji would always be worth it.
Fantasia had put the release of her album on hold. Not only because she needed time to focus on bettering herself but because her breakup had her writing so many new songs. She put pen to paper, and the lyrics just flowed out. Pages and pages were filled. And that gave Fantasia a new idea for how she wanted to present her album to the world. She also wanted to include most of the new songs. Her manager was aggravated at first until he heard some of her new material. He knew the album was gonna go platinum in no time when they did decide to release it.

Fantasia was in her weekly therapy session. Dani had told her she had to get right mentally before she could even think about fighting for Taraji. Her friend knew all about her self-sabotaging. Fantasia needed to find ways to communicate effectively. It's hard to respect and value someone else when you don't respect and value yourself.
Dani was friends with Fantasia and Taraji, so she kept them both apprised of what was happening in each other's lives. With their permission, of course. She never wanted to cross any boundaries. Her friends trusted her, and she would always have their backs, whether they were together or apart.
Taraji was in therapy as well because her breakup with Fantasia brought back some old demons—secrets that only Mary knew about. Shit that she needed to overcome to figure out why she walked away from Fantasia so easily. But it wasn't really easy, though. She had suffered in silence for a while. The day Fantasia lied, Taraji's fight-or-flight response kicked in, and she had to go or risk losing herself.
