Twenty years. To love and be loved for that long seemed impossible these days. But not for Fantasia and Taraji. They were still each other's lover, children's mother, lifetime partner, and best friend. It had been said that nothing good could last forever, but their love got better every day. The way the two women still looked at one another like they hung the stars and the moon was proof positive that real love never died. They were soulmates. Always. Forever. And nothing could change that. The key to their happiness was always finding time to spend together no matter how busy life got—a balancing act of sorts.

Taraji and Fantasia were chasing each other around the house. Their playful side still won out occasionally. They were like teenagers again, except they were very much grown and married with kids. Two kids who were sitting in their kitchen with their faces scrunched up. "Will they ever stop?" Zion asked her brother, and Marcell just shook his head. Their parents could be so annoying, but he had never seen two people more in love than his mom and mama.

"Okay, I quit. My ass is tired." Taraji complained as she settled at the kitchen counter out of breath. Fantasia was right on her tail and hugged her wife from behind as they caught their breaths. Zion, their seventeen-year-old drama queen, rolled her eyes. "If it was us running all up and through here, we would end up on punishment," she said in a sassy tone, making her moms laugh.

"When you get your own home, you can run anywhere you want." Taraji shot back. Her kids hated to just let her and her wife be great. Fantasia usually allowed Taraji to handle their children's attitudes; today would be no different. She was busy anyway, kissing on her wife's neck. "Ma, can you not?" Marcell complained. Her feeling up on his mom was not something he wanted to see. He couldn't wait to go back on campus.

The four of them sat at the dining room table and had breakfast together. They discussed how college life was going for Marcell and how Zion felt about soon graduating from high school. For Fantasia and Taraji, nothing and no one was more important to them than their kids. But this upcoming week wasn't about their children; it was supposed to be all about the two of them. Their anniversary. Twenty years married and still in love.

Although they had heard it many times before, Zion asked her moms to tell them the story of how they met. Taraji smiled brightly, but Fantasia was bursting with enthusiasm. She didn't hesitate to start. Their kids laughed at how their mama was at the edge of her seat, animatedly telling them how she and Taraji began dating. Fantasia would never tire of sharing their love story. She was sure the first time she saw Taraji, her heart whispered, "She's the one."
