Deewangi ki hadd na ho jab tak
Hota nahi hai sangam
Sang sang rahenge janam janamAfter the dance and all the fun, Adhiraj was ushered to the mandap where the rituals began, while Annahita went to change into the traditional saree. In Anuvarta, the wedding is customarily performed in a saree, which symbolizes the cultural heritage of the region.
The wedding ceremony started with the Ganesh Puja, as no wedding can proceed without seeking the blessings and guidance of Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles.
As Adhiraj stepped into the mandap, a sense of calm washed over him. The mandap was beautifully adorned with marigold garlands and twinkling lights, radiating warmth and festivity. He took his seat, his gaze briefly meeting his father's, who stood nearby with eyes reflecting deep emotions-pride, joy, and perhaps a hint of nostalgia.
The priests, dressed in traditional dhotis with sacred threads across their chests, began the Ganesh Puja to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesh. The air filled with the scent of incense as they chanted the sacred mantras:
"Vakratunda Mahakaya, Suryakoti Samaprabha,
Nirvighnam Kurume Deva, Sarva Karyeshu Sarvada."("O Lord with a curved trunk, with the brilliance of a million suns,
Please remove all obstacles in our path, always and in every way.")Adhiraj, with folded hands, bowed his head in reverence. The priests placed offerings of fresh flowers, sweets, and durva grass before the idol of Lord Ganesh. The crackling sound of the holy fire added to the sacred ambiance, and the rhythmic chanting of mantras filled the air, creating an aura of divinity.
The priests continued, invoking Ganesh's blessings for the auspicious beginning of the wedding:
"Shuklambara Dharam Vishnum, Shashi Varnam Chaturbhujam,
Prasanna Vadanam Dhyayet, Sarva Vighnopashantaye."("We meditate on Lord Ganesha, who is clad in white, has a peaceful expression, and possesses four arms. May He remove all obstacles from our path.")
Adhiraj repeated the mantras silently, his heart swelling with gratitude and devotion. The prayers were offered with pure intentions, asking for a smooth and blessed wedding ceremony.
The puja concluded with the offering of aarti, where the priests circled the flame in front of Lord Ganesh, asking for His blessings to be showered upon the couple and their families. As the flame passed before Adhiraj, he waved his hand over it and touched his forehead, seeking divine blessings.
With the completion of the Ganesh Puja, the atmosphere felt lighter, as if a divine presence had blessed the union that was about to take place. The rituals would now proceed smoothly, with Ganesh's grace guiding the way.
