"You made a show of not wanting to conform with whatever husbands and wives usually do, only for you to expect me to do what a typical husband does? I thought we're equal? What happened to being in control and independent?"
"Well, I'm sorry if I thought that you're dependable!"
"Is that really how you apologize?"
"Why should I apologize? I'm the one who lost my luggage here!"
"And whose fault is that? If you wanted the princess treatment, you should have told me."
"It's not my fault that caring for others doesn't come to you naturally. I mean, how could you even go on your way without thinking even a bit about me? Has it ever occurred to you or did it ever cross your mind to ask yourself if I'm doing fine, if I'm comfortable or if I had all my things with me?"
Taehyung pursed his lips.
Jungkook sneered. "See? Fine. I'm at fault for being negligent but it's only because I thought I could depend on you. But now I get it. You only think about yourself. Don't worry. I won't expect anything from you anymore."
He walked to his bag, the only one he had left since it has been hand-carried, and grabbed it before going to the deck.
"I'll call and ask the front desk if it has been surrendered."
Taehyung felt guilty because Jungkook had a point.
"No need. I'll do it myself." He replied coldly before disappearing out of view.
Jungkook stayed outside even when it got completely dark. Taehyung secretly watched him while he talked on his phone. He was trying so hard to stop himself from appeasing the younger. Their dinner arrived and was promptly served. It sat on the dining table, getting cold. But still, he can't bring himself to call him because of the shame and guilt.
His phone suddenly rang.
"Why?"
"Sir, your husband called me about his luggage."
"Yeah. He lost it. But why did he call you? He just needs to call the hotel's reception. The boat must have returned it already."
"Uh. But it wasn't left in the boat."
"Huh? According to whom?"
"According to him. He realized that he never took it from the airport."
Taehyung closed his eyes. "That's why he called you."
"I'm just calling to let you know that I'll be on it but it might take days before he gets it."
"Why? They just have to find it. We can pick it up."
"They still have to locate it and send it through air."
"What? Why?"
"He never got to take it from the airport...where you had your layover. So it's still in another country."
Taehyung can only pinch the bridge of his nose.
"I'm afraid he'll have to shop for clothes for now since he has none with him at the moment."
"Yeah. Okay." He sighed.
"He said he doesn't have money."
He nodded. "Okay."
"But Director, please don't let him know that I told you."
"How is that possible?"
He heard an exasperated outbreath. "Just take him shopping and say that you thought that he might need clothes since his luggage is still missing. Honestly. Thinking that way is not unbelievable for people who care."
