chapter thirty four– she dabbles
"WAIT, BEFORE YOU CLOSE the door," florence stuck her hand out. "what do you want, flo?" louis questioned, his eyes hollow.
"can i come in?" she flashed her guitar. a silence fell between them, before he nodded and opened the door further.
they navigated his apartment, eventually finding themselves in the living room. florence sat on the couch, pulling her guitar on her lap. "i'm kinda nervous, so, um, here goes."
i blew things out of proportion, now you're blue put you in jail for something you didn't do i pin your hands behind your back, thought i had reason to attack
i lived like an island punished you with silence, went of like sirens, just crying. why'd i have to break what i love so much? it's on your face, and i'm to blame
she looked over at him, unable to read the expression on his face. she continued singing, hoping that this would help to calm the storm.
tell me that you're still mine tell me that you'll be just fine even when i lose my mind
i need to say tell me that it's not my fault tell me that i'm all you want even when i break your heart
florence trailed off, her strumming slowing into silence — she was doing anything to prolong looking over at louis.
"florence that was," the words fell short. florence looked over at him, a smile ghosting her lips as she realized.
"oh, thank god!"
