Leaving Hogwarts was bittersweet. Bitter because I had to leave my friends and go home for the summer but sweet because I got a break from learning and got to go home!

So far It's been 2 months since break started. I have been writing Hermione and Ron every week. I had been writing to Harry as well, but he never responded. I wonder what I had done to make him upset with me. I brought this up in a letter to the others once, to which they had similar experiences of him not responding. That worried me but I could only hope he was okay. I assume his muggle's caretakers just weren't letting him use magic based on what knowledge I was told from the others.

I had spent some days with Draco, where each time I'd hang out with him and try to salvage our friendship, each attempt failing. However, I noticed at some point he would slightly reciprocate wanting to become friends again, which gave me all the hope I needed to continue this path.

Today was a week after my 12th birthday. This year we did a family-only dinner and I was gifted a new broom, and quidditch gear from my father. Along with 2 advanced potion books from my mother and a bag that had an extension charm that was able to hold anything I wanted. When I dug through the bag, I was pleased to find cat treats for willow, and a small box full of vials of ingredients I could use for potions.

I thanked them profusely and had cake then watched the sunset with them out on the porch. Best birthday ever!

Right now I am currently watering the plants in the garden house. Willow followed me and was playing with some leaves of a Dittany plant. I giggle at the sight.

"Why aren't you adorable!" I squeal and kneel down to pet her. She meows and purrs in response, pushing up against my hand and getting distracted by a butterfly. I finish up and put away my apron, gloves, and watering can. I pick up Willow and bring her towards the house. I walk in and set her down on the couch, she meows and stretches then flops over and falls asleep. I laugh at her and go to my mother's study. I knock and hear a muffled, come in.

"I finished watering the plants and was wondering if you needed me to grab you any from the greenhouse."

"Oh yes please," She then pulls out a piece of parchment and writes down the list. "Just about 2 glasses full of each." She then handed me a crate with the empty glasses of the ingredients I needed. "You can cut them up and just place them inside." I nod and grab it. It's 5 plants, and it seems simple enough.

This summer mother allowed me to help her more often, which I was thankful for as it gave me a boost in my studies and I really enjoyed it.

Sometimes I wonder if I could do what she does for a living, I certainly wouldn't mind.

I carefully walk down the stairs use magic to open the door and go back inside the greenhouse. I set the crate down on the cutting station Mother had made and got to work snipping off the plants. I take enough and set them down, chopping them exactly how they should be. Mother liked to store pre-chopped plants so she could grab and go. There were times when they would be cut differently depending on the potion but she knew her customers enough to have their regular orders which made it easier for her. She could also come down and get some if she really needed to.

I hum out a tune as I work when I hear someone's footsteps. I look up and see Draco walking into the greenhouse.

"Draco? What are you doing here?"

"Mother forced me to. She came over to have tea with your mother and dragged me alone" He sighed out and played with a leaf that belonged to the woodworm. I nod in understanding and smile at him.

"Well I'm just cutting some plants for Mother, she needs a restock on a few for her potion-making." He nods in acknowledgment and walks over towards me. Leaning on the table to my right and stare at my hands while I cut the plant.
