We walked away and down the previous corridor, we were in. Harry and Ron walk with a more desperate purpose.
"She knew something, Harry. She'd found out something about the Chamber of Secrets. That's why she was taken. I mean, she was --is -- a pure-blood. There can't be any other reason." Ron said, destresed.
"C'mon. Let's go see Lockhart. He may be a brainless git, but he's going to try and get into the chamber. We can tell him what we know..." Harry says pulling him.
"Harry. D'you think there's any chance at all she's not, you know" Harry glances over, studies Ron's tortured eyes
"We'll find her, Ron. Ginny's going to be fine." He says to reassure him. I nod and rub Ron's back in an attempt to console him.
Ron nods, smiles shakily, and looks away. We dash inside Lockhart's office.
"Professor, we've got some information for you" We stop dead and I look to see Lockhart's office is stripped to the shelves. Two large trunks stand open.
"Are you going somewhere?" I ask very confused.
"Um, well, yes. Urgent call. Unavoidable. Got to go..." He says as he stuffs things into the trunks.
"What about my sister?" Ron yells.
"Well, as to that -- most unfortunate. No one regrets more than I --"
"You're the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher! You can't go now!" I yell upset.
"I must say, when I took the job, nothing in the job description"
"You're running away? After all that stuff you did in your books?" Harry asks. Lockhart stands tall at the question.
"Books can be misleading."
"You wrote them!"
"My dear boy, do use your commonsense. My books wouldn't have sold half as well if people didn't think I'd done all those things. No one wants to read about some ugly old Armenian warlock, even if he did save a village from werewolves. He'd look dreadful on the front cover. No dress sense at all..."
"You're a fraud! You've just been taking credit for what a load of other wizards have done!"
"Harry, Harry, Harry. There was work involved. I had to track these people down and ask them exactly how they managed to do what they did. No, it's not all book signings and publicity photos. You want fame, you have to be prepared for a long, hard slog."
"Is there anything you can do?" Ron asks.
"Yes, now that you mention it. I'm rather gifted with Memory Charms. Otherwise, you see, all those wizards would've gone blabbing and I'd never have sold another book. I'm afraid I'll have to do the same to you both, lest you do the same." He says smirking and pulling out his wand. But Harry is quicker.
" Expelliarmus!" Lockhart blasts backward, toppling into one of the open trunks, his wand flying across the floor. I quickly go and grab it, then stand next to Harry. "Looks like those Dueling Lessons came in handy after all, Professor," Harry smirks at him.
"Alright Professor, You're going with us to the Chamber, So up you go now," I say also pointing my wand at him. I put Lockhart's wand in the open trunk and close it shut.
"I told you, I am not going"
"I'm afraid you don't have a choice" I glare at him. He then gets up and I move my wand gesturing for him to walk forward. We follow after him and have our wands pointed at him.
He walks ahead as we discuss our next moves.
"So then, If it's in the pipes, it must have its den in one of the bathrooms," I say, pulling out the paper from before. "There are multiple bathrooms..how do we decide which one?"
