I made it to the train platform and bid my parents another goodbye. My father had made it back two days before, just like he said he would.
"Now you take care of yourself and Willow alright?" My mother said, tugging on my collar to fix it. She acts like I won't be changing out of it to wear my school robes. I nod and simply allow her to fuss over me.
"And remember, No boys!" My father sniffles, trying to act tough despite all his tears.
"I'll be alright guys!" I laugh them off. The train then lets out a whistle, signaling its time to board. "Well, that's me." They sigh and give me one last hug before I get on the train, Willow in hand.
I make my way through the hallways and find Hermione alone in a cabin.I walk in and she looks up.
"[y/n}!" She squeals and gets up hugging me. I return the hug with one hand.
"Hermione!" I giggle back. She lets go and then sits down. "It's nice to see you again...I just wanted to apologize for what happened back in Diagon Alley.."
"Oh...It's alright, I can only assume you didn't stand up for us since you were with Malfoys father?"
"You're always so correct you know that?" We laugh. "But yeah, otherwise I would've said something."
"I understand." She smiles truthfully. "Have you happened to see Ron or Harry today?" I ponder her question and shake my head.
"No, I haven't. Have you?" She shakes her head as well.
"I wonder where they are...Maybe they missed the train or are goofing off on the train." She sighs, already I can tell she's feeling stressed about the boys.
"I'm sure they're fine either way 'mione. Even if they did miss the train, there's a second one that follows to get the late arrivals." I reassure her.
"While yes that is true, you're technically supposed to inform Hogwarts of your need for a late train."
"Well I can only imagine they'd be okay with any other late comers" She simply sighs in response and pulls out a book to read. I giggle at her and get comfy with Willow and take a nap.
-Later-
We made it to the castle. I caught up with some of my friends and was sitting with Susan and Diggory for dinner.
"And then my brother went running off, screaming at how spicy it was!" I laugh at Susan's story, then turn my attention to Cedric.
"What about your summer Diggory?" I ask him.
"Please Abbot, call me Cedric. But my summer was fine. Didn't do much but went out a few times with some of my mates. I tried my best to respond to your letters, but I was either out or busy with housework." He said sheepishly. I shook my head and reassured him it was alright.
"Well then call me [y/n] too. But I understand, I was pretty busy helping my mother with potion making."
"Oh is she a potion master?" Susan chimes in. I nod.
"yeah, she's a private seller, only takes on certain clients, and works from our home"
"That's pretty cool. Do you imagine yourself doing the same?" Cedric asks.
"Yeah, at some point I could imagine myself doing it on the daily. Though I think I'd want to open up a shop to sell my items. Do you guys have any career you're interested in?"
"Well, I want to work with magical creatures or maybe even something with Herbology" Susan sighs dreamily.
"I haven't given it much thought. Maybe play Quidditch professionally if I were given the chance. But that's a long shot" Cedric sighs, chuckling lightly.
