I'm getting a call from an unknown number, but I decide to pick it up. "Hello?"
"Rose is here at my house. She said she needs you to help explain some things."
It's Damon's voice. "I have nothing better to do, I guess I'll be over."

I don't exactly know why I agreed to go help the vampire who kidnapped me. Perhaps it is because I wish to become better friends the the Salvatores and assist them in hiding Elena.
Damon greets me at the door and gestures for me to sit near Rose. "What did you need me for?" I ask.
"I can't explain Klaus better than Klaus's lover can."
This was some trap to get me to explain what went on between Klaus and I. To get me to talk about something I don't want to remember. "No..."
Rose looks at me, grinning. "Stefan here was just telling me that he doesn't believe that Klaus is even real."
"He's real. Very real," I whisper.
Damon eyes me, a look of visible concern on his face. "So you're dating the guy who's trying to kill us?"
I cross my arms, my heart aching at the mention of his name. It is so horrifying to admit that a dark part of me misses him while the rest of me hates him.
"No. We had a romance hundreds of years ago. Klaus is very real and he is very persistent. Once he knows that Elena is here, he won't stop until he has what he wants for his ritual."
I feel my lips grow tighter together. "Which is exactly why I need to leave."

Elena is going out the door, insisting that she needs to go to school. I'm pacing around the house, Damon on my tail. "You're really scared of this guy, aren't you?"
"I've been running from him for over two hundred years, Damon. He's not going to be thrilled when he sees me."
I'm running because his love terrifies me. But I know he will find me. Mystic Falls is attracting him and we are going to be forced into each other's company soon enough.
"How bad is he if you've dated him?"
"We broke up for a reason. He has done horrible things. Though, I'm not sure he's convinced that we have actually broken up."
