"I've ran from the man for just a little over two hundred years, Farrah," Katherine says with a sly smirk. "Let's just say that I do happen to be an expert at being chased."

I look around at the surroundings of the bar. "But what will he do if he finds you?"

"Kill me. Torture me. Taunt me. I don't want to think about the possibilities. This is why I need to find somewhere else to settle down on the low."

"Is he really that good of a hunter?" I question with a small laugh.

Katherine nods.

I have already packed a few things. Some simple dresses and heavier coats, and my essentials. By now, I have moved hours away by train and found a rented place to stay at.

Unless Klaus is that excellent of a tracker, I should have time before he finds me again and harasses me for my knowledge about Katherine. But this time, he will be much angrier. I did attempt to kill him when I tried to stake him in the heart. He seems to hold very stiff grudges.

The guilt from killing Jameson keeps seeping in as I worry about the dangers of Klaus. I killed him in cold blood, just for my own safety. I think Katherine may have gotten in my head when she told me to prioritize myself and my own survival.

When I open the door to exit the place I'm staying in, I gasp in horror. A man is laying on the ground and he is bleeding out very quickly.

I try to resist it. Dark veins form under my eyes and I try and force my fangs to retract. If I feed on him, I could expose myself as a vampire.

It was like someone left him here as a gift...

There's no one else in the hallway and I just can't resist the hunger that draws me to the crimson liquid. My fangs dig into his neck, and the blood surrounding his body is sucked into my mouth. I hate that I enjoy draining all of the blood from his body.

As soon as I come back to my senses, I realize that I have to hide his body. I wipe blood from my lips and I know that I have to clean myself off too. It would be peculiar to see a lady covered in blood.

Before I can haul his lifeless body over my shoulders, I look up and see Klaus. My heartbeat intensifies and everything inside of me tells me to run. How did he already find me?

"Hello there, love."

I look down and then up in a panic. "How? How did-"
