CHAPTER-2

Shivani's Pov:-

I am sitting peacefully in my new office. Just then, a thought came to mind. It's her office, but if my brother sees her, why is she here again?

 Kanika is here, and I last saw her back in school. "But why doesn't she remember me?" I thought to myself.

FLASHBACK STARTS:-- 

age:- Kanika:-age -18 (class 12th)

          Shivani:-14 ( class 8th)

"Shivani, please try to understand—I love your brother."- Kanika said softly.

I said to Kanika, 'Yes, but I don't like you—I actually hate you. My whole family hates you, except for my brother. I don't know what you've done to him. He just keeps repeating your name all the time. I don't care if you love him or not, but because of you, my brother's mental health is deteriorating, and my family is always worried."

"But it's just because of a misunderstanding with my father," Kanika said softly, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Whatever the reason, please stay away from my brother. I've never liked you, and I never will," I said to her, seething with anger.

And she left, crying.

I don't know what happened. Why does she act like she doesn't know me?.

As far as I know, she chose to pursue a career in CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT just to stay close to my brother. Now, she's the owner of one of the most famous law firms and is recognized as one of the top criminal lawyers in the USA. She is known as one of the most ruthless lawyers, never having lost a case. Back in India, her reputation is formidable. Oh, Jesus, what should I do now?

I can't tell my brother about her, and I will also try to stay away from her because she doesn't remember me.

As I was thinking about this, Vipul sir  came over to me.( He is also a famous lawyer)

Yes, sir, what should I do?" I asked calmly.

"Miss Shivani, there have been some changes. You'll need to work as Kanika ma'am's PA," Vipul said, and I was shocked.

"What? But why? I'm new here and an intern without any experience. Why am I being assigned this role?" I asked.

"Because it's the boss's order", Vipul said. He also mentioned that if you don't want to take on this role, you may leave the firm and pay a penalty. You signed a contract with us, which clearly states that for your benefit, the management can assign you any role.

I can't afford to pay the penalty. I have to do this, I thought to myself

"Okay, I'm ready," I said. He then explained my duties and instructed me to go to Kanika ma'am's office.

I went to the elevator and pressed the button for the 26th floor. Once I reached the  floor, I found that it only had her office. I walked towards her office and knocked on the door.

Her voice called out 'Come in,' and I entered the office. I was amazed by the aesthetics of her office, which was decorated in blue—my brother's favorite color. I squinted, and everything in her office was bathed in blue, with every possible shade of blue present.
