Izuku then went to the Observation Room, where a few of his classmates are already waiting for the exams to begin.
He stood in beside Ochaco, who then leaned herself on him as they watched the start of the exams.
Kirishima Eijiro and Sato Rikido vs. Cementoss
The screen shows a cityscape. Definitely in Cementoss' favor. As soon as the buzzer sounded, Cementoss immediately erects a wall of cement threatening to swallow them whole. It seemed he was not taking any chances.
The duo, on the other hand, started using their Quirks at full force and punched the cement around them.
"Do you think they will pass, My Heart?" Ochaco asked.
"Hard to say. All of our classmates have improved by a lot recently. But I'm not so sure that's enough to bridge the gap between them and Cementoss-sensei, especially since they're just attacking head-on. They'll have to finish this soon or they'll run out of gas."
"That is a fair assessment. Though that is how you fight these days, is it not?"
"Hey! It's not my fault we can win most of our fights relying on firepower or X. And it's not like I'll get tired. Ever heard of the saying, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'?" Izuku said, avoiding to use the word 'kill.' While a few classmates already know about Elsewhere, he can imagine many of them would raise an eyebrow if he blurt out that he kills things on a regular basis, monster or not. At least, for now.
"And have I not told you before that 'predictability is death'?" she countered, which made Izuku shut his mouth. "I still think you should try being more versatile. You know, just in case something happens," she said, worry laced in her voice.
"I know. I'll keep that in mind." He then kissed the top of her head.
"I apologize if it ever felt like I was nagging you. About your control and about your swordsmanship. I just do not want to lose you."
"I understand. I'll do the same thing in your position. I'm sorry too."
Satisfied with the answer for now, she gave her boyfriend a tight hug, wanting to convey, even just a tiny bit, her feelings for him. She can't believe how fast it took for her love for him to grow this much. It felt like yesterday to her that she went through a Portal and met the young Evoker, jumping in front of her against the Minotaur Lord. She's now unable to even imagine a world without him. Perhaps not a good mindset for an Evoker's lover, but she'll make sure to do everything to prevent herself from ever losing him.
Turning their attention back to the screen again, everyone but Momo was surprised to see Kirishima reaching Cementoss' position and landing a solid body blow. For a moment, Cementoss was knocked off his feet, but he quickly grabbed Kirishima's arm and pushed his torso while using his left foot to knock Kirishima off-balance. Then, in just a few seconds, all of Kirishima but his face was buried under tons of cement. But that was enough of a distraction as Rikido then dropped on top of the teacher and, in a smooth motion, cuffed him before his Quirk's effect expired.
"Oh, wow!" Izuku exclaimed. "That was good teamwork there!"
"They did well," Momo agreed.
Asui Tsuyu and Tokoyami Fumikage vs. Ectoplasm
The stage was an enclosed area with lots of doors to go through. From the get-go, it was clear that Ectoplasm was trying to engage in close-quarter combat against Fumikage, his weakness. He attempted to overwhelm him with numbers so he could get a few good hits in. Thankfully, Asui was able to support him and help manage the number of clones while watching Fumikage's back.
