"I'm not a good person by any means. Perhaps that's why I have a longing for kindness that borders on obsession." - Kaguya Shinomiya
-----
POV : Kaguya
Kaguya: Mooouh... When is the president finally going to send me a message? Well, it's not like I'm waiting for it particularly, but... I mean, if he's the one making the first move, then...
Knock knock knock
As I lay on my bed, clutching my pillow with almost indecent insistence, my legs moving slightly despite myself, the silence of the room was suddenly broken by a knock at the door. Instinctively, I sprang up, regaining a dignified posture, with my phone within reach.
Who dares to disturb my peace? I had clearly stated that I didn't want to be disturbed. The mere thought that someone might have seen me in such a... vulnerable moment... makes me blush. How shameful it would be for a Shinomiya to be seen in such a light! I felt a wave of heat flush my face, but I quickly suppressed it, shaking my head with cold determination.
There was no way I was going to let such a moment of weakness tarnish my image. After taking a deep breath, I settled back into my role, my usual façade restored, cold and unshakeable.
Kaguya: Huh? Uh... Yes, it's open, you can come in!
After giving my permission to enter, I watched the handle turn slowly, and the door open with measured nonchalance. At the entrance, a familiar figure appeared, advancing with calculated elegance. It was a young woman in a maid uniform, her expression as cold and impassive as ever.
Hayasaka? Of course, who else would have dared to disturb me at this precise moment? Even though I expected her, I thought she was busy elsewhere. Seeing her appear now is somewhat surprising, but Hayasaka never acts without reason.
I briefly wondered what had prompted her to interrupt my tranquility, before suppressing the thought. No need to be distracted by conjecture; after all, I am always ready to face the unexpected, especially when it involves Hayasaka.
Kaguya: Hayasaka? I didn't call for you. Do you need something?
Without paying further attention to formalities, Hayasaka stepped calmly, closing the distance between us until she was right in front of me. Her eyes, still indifferent, fixed on me with their usual coldness, as if nothing could unsettle her.
Hayasaka: Well, you have received some mail, Miss. She handed over the letter with calculated elegance, keeping her gaze respectfully lowered. I simply came to deliver it to you.
Kaguya: I then took the letter being offered to me, my gaze briefly settling on it. But my attention quickly shifted when I noticed Hayasaka holding a second letter that she had not yet given me. Oh, I see there's another letter. Is it also addressed to me?
Hayasaka: No, the second letter is addressed to my name. She slightly tilted her head, pausing before continuing with a calm assurance. It seems this one is meant for me.
Kaguya: Oh, you received some mail too? I remarked, visibly surprised, my gaze betraying a hint of confusion. It's quite unusual for you to receive letters, and even more so at the same time as mine... Do you think there might be a connection between the two letters we received?
