"The annoying thing about human relationships is that... you can't proceed with just one side's opinion." - Fûtarô Uesugi

POV: Fûtarô

I checked one last time to make sure I had gathered everything, then grabbed my things and got ready to leave. Alright, everything's in order. Now, it's time to head out... If I had the choice, I would have preferred to stay here, buried in my studies for the upcoming exams. But with this tutoring responsibility that had fallen on me, I didn't really have another option. And of course, those girls had insisted that I spend the night at their place...

Great, this is going to be complicated. Especially with Nino, who was already resistant to the idea. I mentally prepared myself to endure her sharp remarks. But well, it was just one night, I could manage. And even though I'd never admit it out loud, I had grown attached to those five idiots. I couldn't let them fail their exams again! They had shown remarkable progress recently, and I had a good feeling about this time. I just had to hope that Nino wasn't planning another trick... Come on, Uesugi, you can do this.

Fûtarô: Alright, I'm off, I said as I headed toward the door in a curt tone. See you tomorrow, then.

??? Big brother, wait for me, please!! she cried out, running after me.

As I was about to open the door, a familiar voice called out to me, forcing me to turn around. Who else could have run toward me like that but my dear little sister, Raiha Uesugi? Of course, it was her. Always so predictable, but in the best way. I wondered what she wanted to say this time. Ah, yes, I had forgotten again to pat her head or say goodbye personally before leaving. What a scatterbrain I can be sometimes... Of course, she wouldn't hesitate to remind me in her way, always so gentle but relentless.

Raiha was undoubtedly the most cheerful person in our family, and in a way, she was the one holding everything together with her lively attitude. After all, she was the only one I could never refuse anything. Despite her young age, she was the one managing the finances and preparing meals for the family because, let's be honest, our father simply wasn't capable of doing it. The absence of our mother also forced her to take on a significant share of the household chores, which left a bitter taste in my mouth. I felt guilty for leaving her with so many responsibilities, especially at her age, but on the other hand, I had my own obligations to handle as well.

What was impressive was the maturity Raiha developed through all these tasks. She was learning far more than a child her age should know, and I could see in her a quiet strength that made her unique. She cared deeply about me, always attentive to my life and well-being, and I felt the same concern for her. We were a close-knit duo, a brother and sister who supported each other despite the challenges.

Raiha was a slender young girl of average height, with long black hair tied up in a high tuft by a simple butterfly-shaped ribbon. Her eyes, a mix of green and brown, reflected a determination and gentleness that made her special. She carried much more than her age would suggest, and every day, I realized how lucky I was to have her by my side.
