RED
—————- A few days later -
Friday
It had been four days since the attack on the Brooklyn Bridge and I was happy that the events of that day finally started to settle down in our school.
The mysterious note I had received was still floating around in my head. I had so many unanswered questions.
How were they following me? What did they want from me? What did I do to this person? How did they know I was the The Red Spider? And who was this person?
All these questions had been driving me crazy. I tried to stop thinking about it, but my mind just wouldn't let it go.
I was standing by my locker, putting a few things away when I saw Ariana eagerly approaching me with her brother following behind. She looked very excited to tell me something.
"Guess what! Guess what! Guess what!"
I shrugged. "What?"
"Crystal of Arendelle is throwing a party tonight!" She squealed with excitement.
I frowned. "She is?"
Crystal of Arendelle was probably the richest person in our school. She often threw parties at her house, which were for pretty much everyone she had ever said hi to.
"Her parents are visiting her aunt this weekend or something, which means her house will be empty for two whole days" Evan explained.
I groaned, turning my head to Ariana. "You're gonna force me to go, aren't you?"
"C'mon, Red, it will be fun"
"I'm not in the mood to party"
Ariana sighed. "Red, you got to stop being a superhero for once and just be a regular teenager. You could really need this. Ever since the attack you have been a little...absent"
Maybe that's because I have a deranged psychopath after me, who probably wants to kill me.
I hadn't told the twins about the second note I had received. This person was far more dangerous than I originally thought. I figured it wouldn't be safe for them if they knew too much. I hated lying to them, but it was for their own good.
"Red?"
Ariana was staring at me with hopeful eyes, but I knew I was gonna disappoint them.
"You guys have fun, I'm not going" I closed my locker door and walked passed them.
I felt a bit guilty as I walked away. I shouldn't have cut them off like that. Of course they didn't know what was going on. Maybe Ariana was right. My mind was constantly occupied with this mysterious person and the creepy notes he had been sending. Maybe pausing The Red Spider would give me some rest about this whole situation.
The sound of the school bell interrupted my thoughts and I made my way to my next class.
