Chapter 5

Arder's POV

I wrapped a blanket around me as I decided to procrastinate my schoolwork and answer Valerian.

I was confused as to he even found my account, because the username was not even connected to my name at all. It was a username I made when I was 13, after discovering I was bi.

oh yeah! i don't listen to them super often but they're cool :)

im a huge fan of them but i mostly listen to like sludge or death metal

i took some ap courses and got to skip it this year

While I was enjoying the conversation, I was incredibly confused. Valerian seemed so stoic and lacking of any emotion during the school day. He, during the day, reminded me of a rock, just stoic, unmoving, and could be boring. I was now beginning to think of him as a geode, where you have to smash your way inside to get to the crystals and beauty. I wasn't going to smash him, but I still wondered if he just was more than he let on.

After fifteen minutes, it was clear Valerian had just ghosted me. I sighed. I guess the question was just too personal, and I hated making people feel bad, so I typed out a quick "sorry" before turning back to my work for the night.

When I was about to get ready for bed, I plugged my phone in and talked in my groupchat for a bit, then showered, and got dressed.

Before drifting off, I thought of Casper, and how cool he seemed, and how pretty he was. But just before falling asleep, Valerian's face flashed before my mind, and the pink on his cheeks earlier in the day.

Like i said, shorter chapter today. I'm dealing with some chronic health issues from my illness and I just had a huge migraine, but I hope to be back up at my average of at least 1000 tomorrow! Thanks for understanding <3
