✧ Raj Malhotra’s POV ✧

It has been a week—an entire fucking week since I’ve felt like this. I’m drowning in depression, not knowing what to do or where to turn. I’ve been trying to heal my broken heart, not just because Lavanya called me a monster, but because deep down, I know I am one. She didn’t want to see me anymore; she said we were nothing.

My whole room is in shambles, all my fault. I didn’t even give her a hint about my true identity. I stumbled into the kitchen, only to hear my bhai and their mates arriving.

“Raj, what’s going on, man? You’ve been acting like a psycho,” Riya said. She’s right. I killed nearly half of the rogues without mercy, not even knowing their mistakes.

I didn’t respond and reached for the wolfsbane. Jatin snatched it from me.

“Raj, don’t do this. You’re basically killing yourself and your wolf,” he said.

I let out a cry and sank to the floor. He’s right. My wolf, Rudra, is suffering because of my constant intake of wolfsbane. It’s the only thing I felt I could do.

“Raj, you’re not just Lavanya’s mate; you’re also a king. You need to be responsible,” Riya said, patting my shoulder.

“You know that…a king is nothing without his queen,” I said, my eyes burning from tears.

“Raj,” I heard Aaria’s voice. She’s like a sister to me. I looked at her through my teary, red eyes.

“I need to talk to you alone,” she said. Riya protested.

“But Aaria—”

“Please, Riya, let me try,” she said. Riya nodded, and they left. Before going, Dev handed me a medicine-like drink.

“You need this,” he said and left.

Aaria sat down in front of me on the floor. “Raj, look at me,” she said gently. I met her gaze.

“You consider me your elder sister, right?” she asked. I nodded.

“So hear me out. Lavanya didn’t mean to hurt you. Raj, think about it—if you were in her place and suddenly saw me as a wolf, how would you react?” She took my hands in hers and gently caressed my knuckles.

“I know she loves you too. She’s just a little scared. Try to understand her situation. What will happen to your pack if you behave like this?” she asked.

I looked at her and said, “But Aaria, she said she didn’t want to hear it.”

“Then give her some time to understand. Raj, she’ll come back to you. You’re soulmates,” Aaria said. I agreed—maybe she needed time. I wanted to see her, but I knew she needed space.
