I finally moved into a small apartment this morning. Ah... the peace!

The apartment I chose is close to Yoongi hyung's house, and it only needs 15 minutes of walking. When I asked Yoongi hyung to help me choose an apartment, he suggested that this time, I needed to make my own decisions, put my needs first, and count on myself. He said that this is my life and I shouldn't let others influence me. He also added that in life, there would come a moment when I would be all alone with no one by my side, that time, I must not give up, but I must strive to live, defeating everyone's ill wishes for me.

The conversation with him hit hard. He acted less like a brother and more like a father. I'm forever grateful to have met him. He's the only reason I'd also thank my mother for remarrying that man.

Speaking of my mother, I haven't talked to her since graduation day, and it's been two weeks now. She doesn't call me either. It sucks that I'm someone she can remove from her life that easily. Would she have behaved like this if dad were alive? The most probable answer is... yes. Now, after five years, I understand that she's the main reason behind my family's demise. Or maybe I should've kept my mouth shut that day.

Nonetheless, I'm not going to mourn over the fact that she hates me because I shouldn't care about the people who cause me pain. Instead, I should focus on my mental and emotional well-being. I clearly told Yoongi hyung to not give my apartment address to any of the family members, and he said that he's not dumb to do that. Some of his family members don't know his address either. Only his father knows, and hyung categorically had told his father not to reveal it to anyone.

My apartment is not that big, but it's decent enough for a single person like me. In one room there is my bed, next to it there is an L shaped sofa then there's a kitchen. On the opposite side of my bed, there's a cupboard for my closet, and a few meters left to the cupboard, there's a bathroom.

Currently, I'm lying down alone. Yoongi helped me with his car this morning to move the last few boxes, and his plans for this afternoon are to spend time with his boyfriend. My other friends are busy as this is the vacation time before the start of their university life. They're enjoying quality time with their family abroad. So now, it's I, me, and myself.

Maybe I'll just order something to eat as I don't have the energy to cook dinner. As I go to pick up my phone, the doorbell rings. Who could be at this time?

I groan, getting up from my bed and going to open the door. There stands Jungkook with two bags in his hand, and dazzling smile. Next to her, there's a girl with blond hair, and I wonder if she's the sister.

"Good evening, Taehyung," he beams. I grin and let them in.

"Welcome to my small little home," I say as I close the door. Jungkook puts the begs on the kitchen counter and then sits on the sofa next to the girl.

"Did the moving go smoothly?" He asks as I take a chair from the kitchen counter and sit opposite them.

"Yeah, Yoongi hyung helped me a lot."

"That's great. Sorry I couldn't help you. I was too busy because my sister was extremely busy," he jokes, and I chuckle.

"And her? Your sister?" I look at her.

"No, no," she quickly denies. "I'm his future sister-in-law."

"She's my sister's mate, Chaeyoung. She was free, so I told her to tag along," he explains.

"Hi," I greet her. "Hope you feel comfortable here."

"Yes, I do." She looks around and comments, "it's a nice place."

"It's still messy." I look at the unpacked boxes.

"Totally understandable. You just moved in."

"Taehyung, are you alone tonight?" Jungkook asks, looking directly at me.

"Not anymore."

"Did we disturb you?" His expression changes to a distress one.

"Not at all, Kook. I'm happy that you came," I reply sincerely.

"Um... Mr. Taehyung," Chaeyoung calls me. "Kook — I mean, we bought you something."

"Really? What?" I ask, a little excited.

Jungkook gets up from his seat and goes to the kitchen counter. My eyes follow him intensely as he looks very exceptional today. Of course, he always looks beautiful, but today, I think he has done his hair and applied some makeup.

He takes out from a cake box and places it on the counter. Then he takes the latter bag, turns around, and comes to me.

"Here, this one is for you." He hands me the bag. My heart flutters that they bought me some gifts so I'm quick to open it. There's a beautiful keychain that looks expensive as well, and there's also a big showpiece of tiger made out of glass.

"The keychain is from me, and Jungkook gifted you the showpiece," she explains. Both of the gifts are beautiful. My lips quiver up, and I look at him.

"Thank you," I say wholeheartedly. His smile grows bigger as his face turns red. Then I thank her, too.

"We also bought a cake to celebrate," Jungkook beams.

"That's great. You two stay, I need to go to the bathroom." I gently put the gifts on the sofa and go inside the bathroom.

Closing the door, I lean against it. A tear slips from my eyes. They have no clue how much the gifts mean from me. I haven't received one for an entire five years. My birthdays were all like any other days, and whenever I used to achieve something, my trophies would go to the home attic where there are lots of unimportant things. That was my life for five freaking years, and now, everything has flipped. I've found new people who care for me.

I sob escape my mouth unintentionally.
