"I want to talk about everything with at least a person as I would with myself."
— Fyodor Dostoevsky

Jungkook holds me as we lie on the bed. I rest my head on his chest, while he keeps playing with my hair, which is very satisfying.

We've been lying for half an hour now. I'm feeling very exhausted about what happened today. All I ever wanted was peace, but they kept coming to my life again and again.

"Taehyung, can I ask you why exactly your mother is like this?"

I tense up hearing his question. Jungkook still doesn't know what the deal is between Mother and I. I didn't tell him because the story is shameful.

"Don't get tensed up, hyung. It's just doesn't sit with me that she suddenly changed after marrying and because she wanted to start newly."

"I... I was ten years old back then," I begin to unveil my past, something that I never told anyone. I'm telling him because I trust him.

"I was at a friend's house, playing, but I felt sick on my stomach, so I decided to return home early. His father dropped me on my house. We had a spare key under our doormat that no one knew about, so I opened the door."

I pause at the heartbreaking moment. Jungkook senses it and holds my hand with his free one.

"I saw my mother on the kitchen... kissing another man. That man was Mr. Min."

It feels as if a huge burden has left from my chest. I was living with the burden of reality up until now, but now I feel so light. I recounted everything to Jungkook, and now, I feel free. Maybe this is what I needed. A person whom I can trust my secret with.

"What! Your mom cheated on your dad?" His voice full of disturbance as expected. "How?" He's in disbelief.

"She didn't see me, though, so I hid instantly. Later in the evening, I secretly told my father, and this was how the partition between my parents happened. Of course, she blamed me, but I didn't understand why because I said the truth."

I move from my spot and sit on the bed cross-legged to face him as a way to show him my sincerity.

"This hatred is still ongoing. She tried to win back my father but couldn't. She didn't want to leave because my father was the sole provider, and my father didn't leave because of me. They were compromising."

"And she took all her angers on you because you said the truth?" He intones, staring deeply in my eyes.

"Yeah. I ruined all for her."

"Does Yoongi hyung know?"

I contemplate. I know another dark secret that can effectively ruin Yoongi hyung's relationship with his family. Yoongi hyung doesn't already like his family much, and this revelation can shatter him. I promised myself that I won't tell it to anyone, but Jungkook isn't just anyone to me. He's my everything now.

"Jungkook." I take his hand. "Don't utter this to any living beings."

"What happened?" He mutters, scared.

"I overheard mother and step-father one day when they were making fun of Yoongi hyung's mother, and..."

"And what, Tae?" He sits up.

"And step-father said that he did good cheating on his wife because she was ill and couldn't give him what he wanted."

All colors of his face fades and he looks pale. It's justified since this was my face as well when I discovered the news. I never thought such low people existed, but I was born from that low-level woman.

"Mother was cheating on my dad for two years with Mr. Min while his wife was battling with cancer. If Yoongi hyung get to know any of this, he will crumble for sure. I've seen him crying for his mother when step-father got married to my mother. I know he doesn't really like Mother. He once shouted at her because she was trying to take his mother's place." I supplicate again to him to keep this between us.

"Yeah... don't worry," he breathes under the shock. "I won't tell this to anyone, Tae, but..."

"But?"

"I'm perplexed," he confesses. "You are so good — good is a small word — you're outstanding, marvelous and so much more, how come your mother...?" He stops.

I smile gently, hearing his compliments.

"Thank you for thinking so highly of me. Well... I think my mother is the only blemish on me," I admit hopelessly.

"No, Tae. Your mother doesn't define you, but your behavior defines you. You proved that many more times. You showed your mother how noble you are. Your dad is proud of you, Taehyung."

Tears well up in my eyes. Every time I'm at my lowest, he comes up to me as my brightest star. He cups my face, comes closer, and kisses me. I make him straddle me, letting us feel each other even closer. Our kiss is passionate, just like our feelings for each other.

"Taehyung," he whispers sensually against my mouth.

"What?" I answer the same way.

"Let's meet my parents on your birthday," he suggests.

"Why?" I frown.

"They wanted to meet my boyfriend. They're tired of listening to me always talking about you." He shyly replies.

"You talk about me always?" I playfully ask.

"I have the best boyfriend. Of course, I'll brag."

I blush.

"So, will you come? They won't bite."

I laugh lightly.

"Yes, Mr. Jeon. I will go with you."
