Roses for Red

Chapter 13

"I think you should work on other stuff like social media or something" Mark advised.
"That is Gabby's thing, me I am writer and a blogger I can't do social media" I said smiling.
"My alarm just rang it is 4:00 am Red" He said and looked straight to the clock in my room.
"It is impossible, it can't. I have to be in school by 6:00 am for practice" I said, standing from the bed.
"I am sorry" He said sounding down.
"Why are you sorry?" I asked confused.
"I should have pushed her  immediately, but I..... and we......" He said, and then I remembered why I was even on this punishment. I have grown to love them so much, and I felt part of the team now that I completely forgot that wasn't really part of them.
"Hello Red, are you there?" He said.
"Yeah, I am. I just went to bathroom" I lied to him.
"What did you say?" I asked, hoping he would not repeat himself.
"Argh, nothing. I just wanted to know if you would like to have a little snack with me after practice today?" He asked.
I was quiet for a while, not sure if I should agree now or just cancel, not like I will do anything after school and I am tired of our fight. Oh God, what will I do?.
"Red " He said, bringing me to the present.
"Yeah, I don't mind after practice" I responded.
"Okay, see you at school" He said, and I smiled at the screen.
"See you too" I said and ended the call.
"I am so going to be late if I sleep now" I said to myself. Let's get ready then.

I arrived school just in time but what I saw almost made me want ran home to sleep. The cheerleading squad was in the gym and the same time the boys were coming in.
"Good morning, Red" Catherine said as I entered the gym.
"I seems we will be here during practice today and I would love to see you watch us. Me and my dear Mark together for the upcoming game"  She said, moved away innocently as soon as the boys were coming in.
The thought of her and Mark together bothered me. I won't lie, but I had to keep I cool head.
"So Red, breathe in and out" I said to myself.
"So guys welcome to another week, as you all know the basketball season is near that means, more work and more practice" I said as loud as I could shout due to the cheerleading squad chants.
"The rules and of course diet has already been posted the locker room so do check them and follow them properly" I said giving the room to the captain.
"You heard her guys, so we need to bring this trophy home plus now we have our secret weapon back and of course the our newly added coach" He said looking at me smiling.
"Now,let begin" I said blowing the whistle.
"Sorry sorry I am late, I couldn't sleep properly last night" Mark said jogging into the gym.
"You have to sleep properly guys. It is important" I said looking at Mark.
"I know but I wonder why I couldn't" Mark said and winked at me and I smiled.
"Good morning coach" I said moving to the gym door.
"Morning, are the boys ready?" He asked looking at them.
"Yes" I responded and nodded.
"Good, there are new basketball jackets in my car go get it and put it in my office and after that make sure the water is taken carefully from my office here" He said and then pointed at one of the front benches.
"Okay coach" I said and left.
The errand to car and back was not an easy fit because the new jacket was a lot heavier than expected.
"Can I help you with this?" Mark asked me as I struggled with the door.
"Sure" I responded immediately.
"So you look nice" He said entering the office first.
"What are you playing at?" I asked as I dropped the jacket moving the water.
"You don't look sleep deprived" He said and I laughed for a while.
"I drank coffee to be able to stay awake to drive to school" I said looking around.
"I think you should be driving in that state you were in" He said pointing to the water under the desk.
"Thanks " I said and dragged out the water.
"Let me help you with that" He said taking the water from.
"You are being extra helpful today" I said looking at him.
He only nodded then we entered the gym and instantly all eyes where on us like we are doing something wrong.
"Thank God the water is here" One of the players came towards us.
After the water distributed, the guys where all chatting about the new season and I was watching all of them from the bench while the coach was talking Jake about the new technique.
"Coach some of the benches are dirty" Catherine said from the stands.
"Red will take care of that later" coach said and continued talking to Jake.

I vibrated by the sound of dripping water and the cold sensation I felt in my body.
"Why would you be sleeping on the job?" Catherine said loud and clear to my hearing.
"After destroying my image why would be sleeping like this and because of you I have spilled water everywhere" She pretended after she gained everybody's attention.
"You can't even say anything for this mistake" She added only making the last word to my ears.
I looked around both Jake and Mark were not here. I wondered how I slept off how can I be so  foolish.
Then I started hearing muffled sobs coming from the bench beside me where I was stilled glued to the floor watching everything around me.
The cheerleading squad was consoling Catherine like she was the one that is drenched in freezing water.
"Red, there is water clean it plus you have to wax the floors as well before practice tomorrow" the coach said in a flat tone in order to please Catherine and left the gym with some of the guys whild the others where facingthe order end of the gym.
"See wasn't that easy now you have clean all this water" Catherine said and immediately the guys with their back turned began to pour more water on the gym floor.
"And you know the fun part there is PE today better start scrubbing" She said chuckling with her group of girls.
She went to their usual sit to get their bags and unfortunately I just kind of wondered what type of shoes I wore.
"HOW DARE YOU?" Catherine shouted as she was butt down on the floor.
"Oh, sorry you fell poor you" I said while laughing and it was funny though.
"You got it on camara, right?" I asked Gabby, who was standing right outside the gym.
"Of course, all of it in different and cute angles" Gabby responded walking inside.
"So if you want this to go viral or you want your little water pouring trick to reach the principle then start scrubbing" I said this time with a flat and rude tone.
"Bye loves" Gabby and I said using their usually annoying tone they use during cheering.
"I WILL GET EVEN WITH YOU BITCH" Catherine scream at the top of her lungs.
As we left the gym I turned to Gabby giving the tightest and wet hug I have ever given her.
"Thank you for coming at the right time" I said immediately I freed her from the hug.
"I am sorry for ignoring the most important girl in my entire life and for the top as well I don't think I have a back up back up top" I said laughing at the end.
"I am sorry for standing you up and not being able to apologise properly" She said and handed me my favourite chocolates.
"Thanks but how did you know I was in there?" I said as we walked towards our locker.
"Are you not going to change first?" Gabby asked.
"My clothes are in my locker" I responded.
"I bumped into Jake and some of the team mate and they said you were still in the gym so I came there" Gabby said.
We talked while we walked to our locker and took our clothes and headed to the girls bathroom.
"You were not in school for a while last week. Did anything happen?" I asked.
"Nothing really just been travelling because of brands that all" Gabby said while she helped me zip my top.
"Thanks" I said while looking at me reflection. The denim 2 pics that I wore did justice to my curves that I had while the black boot heal went well with my outfit and my hair was way finer now it was curly then straighten and luckily for me I had Gabby to rescue who helped me hair product that helped the wet curls to stay in. This outfit is what I won't normally wear since it was a bit short and open in the right areas but since I will go out with Mark I thought why don't I dress for it.
"You look hot today girl" Gabby said as she adjusted her pink baby tee to fit with the denim  cargo she wore with her pink Nike dunks.
"Thank you and you look absolutely stunning today" I said but with my tone she guessed something was off.
"What happened?" She said giving me that spill the tea vibe.
"I will tell you but let's go to class" I said dragging her out of bathroom.
"Wait, my books" She said and walked in back.
Looking down the halls while waiting for Gabby; a familiar figure caught my eyes and I immediately recognised Mark and he was hot as ever wearing a black tank top and a blue jeans and a denim button-up but it did not affect the fact that his abs and biceps where clearly showing through the top. What the hell I see him everyday but today is woah he looks so hot.
"Earth to Red" Gabby said shaking me.
"What?" I asked.
"Stop drooling" She said and started laughing.
"What... am I?" I said in panic mode trying to clean my lips.
"You are not. I am just joking but be ready here he comes" She said looking at my back.
"Woah, Red nice fit" Jack said smiling.
"Yeah, you look pretty today" Mark said flashing me his signature smile while adjusting my hair and oh my did it  blind my eyes.
"Thanks" I said and immediately the bell rang for first period.
"We have to be going now but see ya" Gabby said dragging me along.
"He was checking you oh no he is still checking you out" Gabby said turning back.
"So now tell what is really going on" Gabby asked.
"He asked me out" I responded and guess what I instantly regretted it.

Ps. I just realised I called Jake(Jack) in the last chapter 😅 ooh my, it is Jake while Jack is in another book I am working on that I want to publish on kindle which is under final construction when I am done I will let you know.
