MARK POV:
I came for this party just for Red even though Sarah has the best party of the year, but this year is different for the first time Red will be here. I arrived by 9:45, looking around, and she was nowhere to be seen. Maybe she is running late or what if she is not coming. I cancelled that thought she gave her word that she would be here so she would come is all I could tell myself.

"Guy, do you want a drink?" Jake asked.

"Yeah, sure," I said.

"She will be here. I promise, just chill and have this, " Jake said, handing me a red cup.

"Can we talk?" Catherine asked, and immediately, the drink tasted unusually bitter.

"No, there is nothing to talk about," I said, looking around.

"I want to talk right now," She repeated, not backing down.

"I am not your daddy," I said and turned to leave.

"Red will hear everything in detail how you could not get your hands off me," She said, and I froze.

"I knew that will grab your attention. Meet me in the study by 10:30. We have a lot to talk about, " She said and left me rooted on the ground. If Red hears this, what would she think of me, I know it was a mistake, but she... she will not know. I have to silence Catherine up.

"I have a problem," I said to Jake.

"What?" Jake asked.

"Catherine is threatening me again and this time with Red. I can't let her find out she will be so hurt, and I can't bear another hate from her, " I said, looking at him.

"Then tell her and explain it all, and Red will forgive you," Jake said.

"What if she hates and says she never wants to see me again?" I asked him.

"She loves you more than that, I promise," Jake said with so much assurance.

"You sure?" I asked him.

"100%" He responded.

"I will talk to her after Catherine. I need to make her understand that I can never be with her, " I said and walked out looking for the study.

"Please, where is the study?" I asked, and they pointed to the first room of the first floor.

"Hey baby," Catherine said, coming close to me as I entered the room.

"Stay away from me," I said, moving away from her.

"I am tired of playing the mean girl. When all I want is you, " She said, trying to remove my belt.

"Stop, Catherine, you of all people know that I am in love with Red," I said and pushed her away.

"Ooh, now you are. When you came to begging for sex you were not in love with her, "  She shouted.

"I told you that they would not be any feelings attached," I said very coldly.

"You knew I already had feelings for you, and I would accept," She said with tears in her eyes.

"The first time was a mistake, and I was drunk. It didn't mean any of it, " I said very cold as well.

"Yes it was I was the one but what of the second time, the third and the fourth before you left" She shouted and we heard a sound but there was no one there is probably from the party.

"I am sorry I just I can't be with you or have sex anymore," I said, turning back.

"Then I will make sure Red hears of it," She threatened.
