I walked in, my eyes avoiding the half naked girl swinging around the pole.
It was dark though, the only light surrounding the bar and walkway and my eyes were instantly drawn to where loud seductive music played. I cringed, my eyes peeking to look at the dyed orange lady who swung athletically around the metal pole, leaning down and giving me an unfortunate view of her breasts.
That's not what the men around the walkway seemed to think. They cheered loudly, throwing and stuffing bills at the lady. It was enough to make me pity her. I had managed an paying job that was thankfully lenient on giving away a small holiday when I had just started. Turns out they weren't in such desperate need after all.
I walked away, closer to the bar and spotted who I was looking for.
"Luke, where have you been? Maria's getting worried." Though he had confessed his love, it didn't mean I still didn't care.
Luke didn't seem to hear me though. He was in his own world. A cup of golden liquid glinted at me and I scowled.
"Luke!" I cried, snatching away his glass. As soon as that happened, Luke stood, glaring down at me with a haunted, dark look in his eyes. There was something in there, something familiar that I had seen before.
"Not until you calm down and tell me what you're doing here."
"Mom's on stage. Thought I should visit her," he snapped. I looked up as his 'Mom' (as he liked to call her) began to unclip her bra. I shivered with disgust.
I refrained from rolling my eyes and yelling 'Obviously!' at him. "Well you've seen her, so let's go. Wait, didn't you wear that shirt yesterday?" I wondered.
"I have to wait and give her money," he sniffed his nose and looked down at me.
"Okay, well, do it later?" I sugguested.
"Don't fucking tell me what to do. Just give me my fucking drink and leave me the fuck alone." He growled, snatching the drink from my hand.
I barely registered the scotch splashing on my shirt. He had done a complete 360. From only a little agitated to full blown pissed. I took a wary step back.
"Are you alright, Luke?" I asked. I almost felt compelled to hug him and turn him back into the caring playful guy I had woken up to at my first stay at my new house. This Luke looked worn, angry, and... Crazed.
"Luke, you're scaring me." I freaked taking a step back. The music suddenly changed, turning darker, scarier, as if the next dancer was theming a serial killer's atmosphere.
Luke shrugged. "You never seem to care for me, why should I do the same?" He took a step forward. My eyes took in his every movement. The unsteadiness of his voice and steps. His grin, contorted into something so... Malicious. The slight eye-twitching.
It all made me take a few more steps back.
"You're not, Luke. Please tell me you're not." I felt a block in my throat and a sudden sting of tears pierce my eyes.
"What do you think I'd be doing Lily?" He laughed wickedly. "I'm just having a bit of fun." He took a gulp of the scotch, drinking it like water.
"Luke..." I whispered.
"You can't tell me what to do anymore, Lily. I tried being with you and you blew me off. For Cole." He scowled. "But don't worry Lily. You'll get what you deserve." He sneered.
