Therapy Session
"This is ridiculous" the blonde spoke up.
"Why do you feel that way, Mrs. Knowles? Tell me why you both are here right now," the therapist asked, crossing her legs as she patiently waited to hear what the blonde had to say.
"I no longer want this relationship. I should be able to leave, right?" Beyoncé said, shrugging slightly. "Most people cheat instead of leaving, but I'm trying to do it the right way."
"But, why baby?" the shorter one cried.
"See, I can't handle this emotional shit anymore," Beyoncé sighed, leaning back in her chair, her frustration evident in her tone.
"Mrs. Knowles, tell me why you're ending this relationship? What was the deal breaker for you that made your mind switch?" the therapist asked, her tone gentle but probing, as she leaned forward slightly, waiting for Beyoncé's response.
"I just think Nicki needs time to figure things out on her own. She has attachment issues, and if those demands aren't met, she gets angry," Beyoncé answered.
"I don't have attachment issues, Beyonce" Nicki replied.
"You do. You've been in relationships your whole life, and when we got together, everything moved fast. We had our son literally a year into our relationship," Beyoncé said.
"That's not fast, we were in love"
"She has an excuse for everything. I think she needed time to love herself. There are things she needs to work on by herself," Beyoncé said, her voice tinged with frustration. "I hate that we brought a child into this." The therapist nodded, jotting down notes in her notepad.
"You're saying you regret our son?" Nicki asked, her voice trembling as her breath hitched.
Tears began to roll down her face once more, the distress overwhelming her. The very thought of splitting up with her wife was breaking her heart a little more with each passing second.
"I never said that, you're not listening"
"Then what are you saying right now?" Nicki asked, her voice cracking.
"I can't do this anymore," Beyoncé chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief.
She was over the whole talking thing-she wanted out, and she couldn't understand why that wasn't being respected.
Most couples endure unnecessary pain because one partner can't admit they're no longer in love. As soon as the blonde realized her feelings for her wife had changed, she knew she had to do the responsible thing and end it.
Problem was, her wife wouldn't allow it.
"Onika, I think what your wife is saying is that you both moved at a faster pace than she would have liked. I don't think you two truly got to know one another before you conceived your child, which complicated things a bit for her," the therapist said softly to Nicki, who still wasn't fully understanding what was being said.
