"Baby, have you seen my blue suit?" my husband asked as he was packing his suitcase for his work trip.

"Yeah, baby, I took it to the cleaners."

"And where is it? My flight leaves in an hour," he said, coming out of the closet. I grabbed his tie off the bed and wrapped it around his neck, pecking his lips.

I tied his tie for him and smiled. "Don't worry, baby, I picked it up. It's already in your bag."

"Thank you, beautiful. I don't know what I would do without you," he said, leaning down to peck my lips. I giggled and kissed him once more.

"How long are you going to be gone this time?"

"Maybe for a week or two. I never know until we get there; sometimes our business deals take a little longer than usual. Why, are you going to miss me?" he smirked.

I smacked my lips and playfully rolled my eyes. "Oh, don't flatter yourself. I'm perfectly fine without you."

"Oh, really?" he asked.

"Really"

"When I get back, I'm going to make love to you and do your body so right," he whispered, leaning down to my ear and giving it a gentle kiss.

My breath hitched as his words sent a wave of heat through me, turning me on instantly.

"Hmm, we should do it now," I murmured, reaching for his tie with a playful glint in my eye, my fingers starting to undo the knot. But he chuckled softly, grabbing my hand to stop me.

"I would love to, but I really have to get going, baby," he said, pressing a lingering kiss to my lips. I couldn't help but fake a pout, my disappointment obvious.

I loved my husband, no doubt about that, but I also really enjoyed having my own space. Sometimes, having someone around all the time can feel a bit smothering, even if you love them.

Thankfully, my husband travels for work pretty often-he's usually gone every other week. Those trips give me a nice break to just do my own thing, relax, and enjoy some peace and quiet. And honestly, it makes me look forward to him coming back even more.

"Okay, well you need to start heading out"

"I'll call you as soon as I get to the airport," he said, walking over to zip up his suitcase before picking it up. He came over to me, giving me a side hug and kissing my forehead.

"I love you, beautiful," he said, then left the room.

I followed him down the stairs to the door, and after he stepped out, I closed the door behind him.
