Saturday morning arrived with a slow, sleepy stretch. Anne welcomed the weekend with no plans other than to relax. She had a lazy day ahead — watching TV, maybe doing some laundry, and just letting the stress of the week slip away. After a quick breakfast, she decided to take a long, hot bath to melt away any lingering tension.
Anne filled the tub with steaming water, adding a generous scoop of her favorite lavender-scented bath salts, and sank in with a contented sigh. She was just considering whether to get out when her phone pinged from the nearby counter. Curious, she reached over, careful not to drop it into the water. A new message flashed on her screen — it was from X'lar.
X'lar:
"My preparations are complete. I can transport you to my ship whenever you are ready. Be advised: the process may cause temporary dizziness or disorientation."Anne blinked, surprised. This AI had actually made her wait to continue the game? She wasn't expecting that. She quickly typed back, her fingers splashing a bit of water as she did.
Anne:
"Give me 10 more minutes"With a grin, she set the phone aside and leaned back, closing her eyes. She washed her hair, enjoying her soak for a few more minutes. After all, she wanted to be relaxed and comfortable before diving back into the game. As she stood and wrapped herself in a fluffy towel, her wet hair dripping onto her shoulders, a strange sensation suddenly washed over her.
A wave of dizziness hit her like a punch, her vision blurring. She blinked rapidly, trying to clear her head, but the feeling intensified, and she felt the floor disappear beneath her feet. Her surroundings warped and twisted in a blur of colors, and she had just enough time to think, What the hell is happening?
When her vision cleared, Anne found herself standing in a large room she had never seen before. The first thing that caught her eye was a massive panoramic window stretching across one wall, revealing an awe-inspiring view of space. Her breath caught in her throat as she realized what she was seeing — Earth, distant and small, floating like a blue and white marble against the endless black backdrop of the cosmos.
Her towel was still clutched tightly around her, her hair dripping onto an unfamiliar floor. Between her and the window, towering over her by almost twice her height, was a figure — X'lar?
He was imposing and powerful, his frame incredibly muscular. His skin was an unusual purple-grey color that seemed to shift slightly with the light, and his eyes glowed a subtle but striking yellow, like molten gold. He looked at her with a calm intensity, his presence radiating both authority and an unexpected sense of calm.
"Greetings, Anne," he said, his voice deep and resonant.
Her mouth hung open in shock. It's real... well... fuck! The room seemed to tilt around her, and the dizziness swept over her again. Her vision darkened at the edges, and before she could utter a single word, she felt herself lose consciousness, the last thing she saw was the glowing yellow of his eyes.
