After some time in X'lar's embrace, the lingering effects of her orgasm subsided, and Anne began to feel a restless energy creeping back in. The questions she had been pushing aside flooded her mind once more, making it hard to fully relax.

"Is everything alright?" X'lar asked, noticing the subtle shift in her body language. When Anne didn't answer, unsure of how to put her thoughts into words, X'lar gently tilted her chin up, making her meet his eyes.

"What's wrong, little one?" His tone was calm, patient.

She hesitated, then finally spoke, her voice soft but laced with uncertainty. "I... I don't know anything about anything. About you, this place, the universe... I have so many questions."

X'lar's expression remained tender as he listened. "You don't need to know everything," he said softly, brushing a hand through her hair. "You are mine now, and it's my responsibility to take care of you. I'll protect you."

A quiet sound from elsewhere in the ship interrupted the moment, and X'lar's glowing eyes shifted toward the source of the noise. He sighed, clearly recognizing the signal.

"I need to check on something," he said, his voice remaining calm. "But before I go, you may ask one quick question."

Anne hesitated for a moment, biting her lip before blurting out, "What's your life like? Do you... always live on this ship?"

X'lar smiled, his gaze returning to her. "I spend much of my time here, but I also visit different planets for various responsibilities."

Before Anne could ask more, X'lar gently pressed a finger to her lips, stopping her. "I said one question, little one," he reminded her with a slight smile. "Now settle and relax until I return."

With that, he carefully lifted her from his lap, setting her back down on the soft sofa. He draped a blanket over her shoulders, his touch lingering for a moment longer than necessary.

"I won't be long," he promised as he straightened, glancing once more at the console across the room before heading towards the door.

As soon as X'lar left the room, the comforting presence that had kept her grounded seemed to vanish with him. Her mind, once again unleashed, began to race uncontrollably.

He told me he'd keep me safe... but safe from what? Anne's thoughts spiraled. She didn't know what dangers were out there in space—how dangerous was it, really? What if something happened to him? She had no idea how to navigate the ship, let alone survive in the vastness of space.

Her pulse quickened as she remembered the strange sound that had pulled X'lar away. What if something's wrong with the ship? Could it explode? On Earth, the risks were familiar, manageable. But here? Everything was new, unknown, and unsettling. The vastness of space, the technology—none of it made sense to her, and that made her uneasy.

Her chest tightened slightly as questions piled up. The room, which had felt so cozy moments before, now felt unfamiliar, its warmth failing to comfort her. She clutched the blanket more tightly, her grip tense as if trying to anchor herself. The anxiety lingered, a quiet, nagging unease in the back of her mind.

Without X'lar by her side, that sense of safety wavered. The unfamiliarity of everything around her pressed in, leaving her feeling a little lost, vulnerable, and unsure of what lay ahead.

When he returned shortly after, Anne didn't hesitate. She bolted from the sofa and ran straight to him, latching onto his leg as though he were her lifeline. Her heart was racing, and tears pricked her eyes. "Please... don't leave me alone again," she whispered, her voice trembling.

X'lar looked down, surprised by her sudden distress. Without a word, he knelt down and pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly against his chest. His touch was firm yet soothing, radiating warmth and security. "My poor little earthling," he murmured softly, stroking her back. "Everything is alright. I'm here now."

He tilted her chin gently, looking into her tear-filled eyes. "Let's calm you down first," he said in a low, reassuring tone. "Then we can talk about everything that's on your mind."

His embrace never faltered, steadying her as her fear began to ebb. The warmth of his body, combined with his calm presence, began to soothe her racing thoughts. She took comfort in the knowledge that soon, she'd have answers, some clarity in this strange new world. With that, her tension eased just a little more.
