I came to know his heart when our gazes locked and so slowly, as if the world had pulled us together, we both leaned to kiss. Then sparks flew, like the embers of the campfire, flying through the echoes of the cave.

His crescent eyes are shining like moonbeams while hers are like sunshine.
It's the first day of January. The sun is high up, yet it is still cold. Though the chill of the sea breeze makes it worse, with her presence casting rays of warmth, he can't feel the freeze anymore.
Last night, so much weight had been lifted. He had come to terms with his idiocy and had confessed to her. He feels so light to step from the shadows and to his sunshine. Though remnants of its darkness may slither through his heart from time to time but at least, he is changing. He won't be as foolish, as immature, and as selfish as before. That's an eternal vow he was supposed not to break.
However, when he opened his eyes this morning and the very first thing, he saw were her beautiful brown eyes, he came to realize that he is still, unfortunately and utterly, selfish. Well, he is but a human with mortal needs and wants. He wanted her to stay on his bed, her head laying on the expanse of his chest, arms wandering, their nerves pleasurably prickling with their touch. He wanted her kisses. Her giggles. Her melodic voice gasping his name. He wanted her everything. If not with his phone loudly ringing with Taehyung's early greetings of Happy New Year, he wouldn't have realized that he is not the only one, but one of the seven. Her seven. Yet he felt so fortunate, for he's the only one with her on the very first day of this year.
Maybe he can have a pass just for today?
"Come on." Her voice lilts as she pulls him over, egging him to walk faster. "Slowpoke." She teases.
The word opens up the tender joys of yesterdays. He used to tease her that but was beaten back with the same remark as their relationship progressed. And just like before, he jumps over her, making her squeal as he hugs her and swings her around. Pearls of laughter scatter through the breeze, both hers and his.
He is so damn happy.
And as he puts her down, he kisses her temple, feeling the jolt of his heart.
He still can't believe that she's here in his arms.
Her giggles are a tingling chime along the soothing hums of the sea waves as it crawls along the shoreline. The bubbles burst into tiny drums that create a melody of an immaculate song. He wants to etch it on his mind and record it through his heart. He wants that whenever he recalls this moment, the tidal waves of emotion he's feeling.
"Yoon." She calls. "There's a spot that I want you to see." She pulls him again and like a kite, he lets her pull his string as he drifts to her command.
