I woke up early, feeling a sense of peace as I lay there for a moment,Today, I wanted to do something special for them—something simple, but meaningful.
As I made my way to the kitchen, I decided to prepare gajar halwa. It was one of my favorite dishes to make, and I hoped Rudra and Ansh would enjoy it.I could already picture Ansh’s teasing grin and Rudra’s rare but soft smile when they tasted it. That thought kept me going as I grated the carrots, the aroma filling the kitchen as the halwa began to come together.Just as I finished, I heard the front door open.
My heart fluttered with excitement, thinking it might be one of them. But when Rudra walked in, something was different. His face was cold, his eyes dark and hard—so unlike the Rudra I was used to seeing. A sense of unease settled over me.Before I could ask what was wrong, he spoke in that low, serious tone of his. "Ansh and Dhruv are missing."His words hit me like a punch to the gut. My breath caught, and fear gripped me tightly.
Missing? How could they be missing? I had just seen Ansh, felt him beside me… how could everything change so quickly?I tried to speak, but the words wouldn’t come. My mind raced, imagining the worst. What if something had happened to them? What if…? I shook my head, refusing to let my thoughts spiral.
Rudra was here, and he was always in control. But even he seemed tense, and that scared me even more.As Rudra started talking, trying to explain what had happened, I couldn’t fully focus on his words. My heart was pounding too loudly, fear drowning out everything else. All I could think about was Ansh, and Dhruv. Were they hurt? Were they safe? But then, just as I felt like I might break under the weight of it all, the front door opened again.
I turned, my eyes wide with hope, and there they were—Ansh and Dhruv. Relief washed over me so powerfully that I almost collapsed.I rushed toward them, not caring about anything else at that moment. "Thank God you’re safe," I whispered as I hugged Ansh tightly, feeling his warmth, his solidity. He was real. He was here. The fear that had gripped me loosened, replaced by the comfort of knowing that my husbands were back.
Ansh was injured—I could see it in the way he held himself, the small winces he tried to hide. And yet, when Rudra started to lead them both toward the office, as if nothing had happened, I couldn’t stay silent.
“No,” I said firmly, stepping in front of Ansh. “You need to clean your wound first before you even think about going to that meeting.”
Rudra stopped and looked at me, his expression darkening. “It’s nothing that they can’t handle. We have urgent matters to discuss,” he said in that commanding tone of his, the one that usually made everyone back down. But not me. Not when Ansh was hurt.
“So what?” I shot back, my voice unwaveringRudra’s eyes narrowed at me, clearly not pleased with my defiance. But I didn’t care. I wasn’t going to let Ansh just brush off his injury. Ignoring the tension, I grabbed Ansh’s arm and tugged him toward the stairs.
“Come on. We’re going to the room, and you’re getting that wound cleaned,” I insisted.Ansh didn’t resist, though I could feel his amusement as he let me pull him along. Rudra was clearly pissed, but he didn’t say anything further, probably knowing it was pointless to argue with me
when I was this determined. As we walked away, I heard Dhruv’s teasing voice behind us. “Oh my God, what day is it today? Did someone shut down the big bad mafia Rudra and Ansh Singh?
Marriage really changes people!”Rudra’s sharp voice cut through Dhruv’s teasing. “You shut up,” he barked, but I could see the smirk playing on Ansh’s lips. Despite everything, even in moments like this, there was always humor between us.
