Chapter 21: Unspoken truths and lingering doubts

The tour had been a whirlwind of cities, performances, and long nights on the road. It had already been two weeks since we embarked on this journey, but it felt like a lifetime. The days blurred together in soundchecks, interviews, and late-night rehearsals. Yet amidst all the chaos, I found myself looking for those quiet moments with Yoongi, the few times we could steal away and be ourselves.

But lately, it hadn't been easy.

I could feel it in the air, the way the others looked at us. It was subtle, almost obvious, but I knew they were starting to suspect something. Little things—like how Yoongi would catch my eye from across the room or the way we both seemed to disappear at the same time. We had been careful, or at least, we thought we had been.

It started with Namjoon. He was always the most observant of the group, noticing the small details that others might overlook. It was during one of our late-night meetings after a concert, and Yoongi had lingered a little too long in the hallway after everyone else had gone to their rooms. I had noticed Namjoon's gaze flicker between us, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. He didn't say anything, but I knew he had seen something.

The next morning, during breakfast, there was tension in the building. The guys were their usual selves, laughing and joking around, but there was an undercurrent of curiosity, especially from Jin and Taehyung. Jin had always been the one to tease, but lately, his jokes had a sharper edge.

"So, Yoongi," Jin said casually as he reached for another piece of toast. "You've been disappearing a lot lately. Got a secret project you're working on?"

Yoongi barely looked up from his phone, his expression impassive. "Just writing, hyung. You know how it is."

Jin raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Right. Writing. And how's the inspiration been lately? Seems like you've got plenty of it."

Yoongi didn't miss a beat, shrugging nonchalantly. "It comes and goes. Why?"

Jin leaned back in his chair, still grinning. "No reason. Just curious. You've been pretty...distracted lately, that's all."

Yoongi tried to focus on his breakfast, pretending he wasn't paying attention to the conversation, but he could feel his face heating up. Namjoon, sitting next to Jin, glanced over at him. His eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn't say anything. Yoongi could tell he was putting the pieces together in his mind.

Jimin and Jungkook, sitting across from him, exchanged a glance of their own. Jungkook, always the playful one, couldn't resist joining in.

"Maybe hyung's got a secret admirer," Jungkook teased, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Or maybe he's the one being admired."

Yoongi shot him a withering look, but there was no real heat behind it. "Don't you have something better to do, Jungkook?"

"Not really," Jungkook replied, unfazed. "Just trying to keep things interesting."

Hoseok, who had been quietly sipping his coffee, chuckled. "You guys are ridiculous. Let Yoongi write in peace. Whatever he's working on, I'm sure it'll be amazing."

The conversation shifted after that, but Yoongi could still feel the weight of their curiosity lingering in the air. They needed to be more careful.

Your POV

As the day went on, the tension only seemed to grow. During rehearsals, I caught Namjoon watching me a few times. Taehyung, always keen in his own way, had also started to notice the small things—the way Yoongi's mood seemed to lighten whenever I was around or how we would both slip away during breaks.
