David POV
Who the hell told me to have four kids?
First it was Dakota, then came KJ, and then King and finally Demi. Three boys and one girl. All whom act like Kevin. So my life is just fucking amazing at this point 🙃
In all seriousness, I do love my life now.
"Dadddd! KJ ate my Wendy's!" King yelled
That quick moment of peace is now gone.
I left out my office and headed to the kitchen where KJ and King were in a yelling match. Everyday it's something with these kids. They love each other but they fight so much.
I shook my head at them and then stepped in the middle of them.
"KJ, you have a whole meal right there. You just being greedy," I said
"No I wasn't! I only ate his nuggets-"
"Eat your food and shut up," I said walking away
"Here King, you can have my food," I said giving him my bag
"Thank you Dad," King said smiling
KJ rolled his eyes but remained quiet. Out of all the kids, KJ is the troublemaker one. He will test you but I think it's because he wants attention.
He'll do something so bad or crazy just for me or Kevin to get on his ass. But we treat the kids the same maybe he'll get more mature as time goes on.
The back door opened up and Kevin walked in with Demi on his hips. She was only four years old but she sassy as fuck. I love my little princess though. Kevin spoils her all the time but she's the only girl in the house so...
I smiled when all the kids ran towards Kevin. Dakota ran in from the living room and gave Kevin a big hug. Even though he's 13, he still acts like a little kid.
"Damn, you brought the whole zoo with you," Kevin said, chuckling as he balanced Demi on his hip and ruffled Dakota's hair.
I leaned against the counter, watching the chaos unfold with a smile on my face. As hectic as it got around here, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
"They were just about to kill each other over some damn nuggets," I said
Kevin laughed and set Demi down on the floor. She immediately ran over to her brothers, giving them all attitude with her tiny hands on her hips.
"Stop being big backs," Demi said
Both me and Kevin busted out laughing as she said that.
"You're the biggest back we know," King said
We stopped laughing when we saw Demi tear up and soon she was full blown crying. I gave King the death glare and then went over to Demi.
"Lord have mercy," Kevin mumbled
"It's ok Demi," I said trying to stop her from crying
"Great now we're all in trouble," Dakota said
"Yeah. Boys go do the laundry and take the trash out," Kevin said
All three of them groaned but did what they were told. I held Demi and kissed her head a few times to calm her down.
"Feeling better princess ?" I asked rubbing her back
"Mhmm," she said softly
"How was your day?" I asked Kevin
"Very eventful. Whoever told me to switch over to be a prosecutor needs to get their life together," Kevin said
"I told you to just stop being a lawyer but nooo , you gotta be in court all the time ," I teased
"Damn right," Kevin said kissing my cheek
"Me too papa!" Demi said wanting a kiss
Kevin playfully rolled his eyes and kissed her cheek. As he went upstairs, I took Demi into the living room and turned on the tv for her. She didn't want to leave my sight , so I sat there watching Paw Patrol for the next hour.
The boys were doing their "punishment" while also arguing as well. Kevin came back in a different set of clothes and went over to break up the argument.
If you were to tell me that ten years ago I would have all this— a changed man in Kevin, three other kids, a new job, I would say you're crazy.
"Demi let's go outside," Dakota said picking her up
"Yayyyy!" She said happily
"Be careful," I warned
Kevin sat beside me and pulled me into his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck and sighed in a good way.
"Thanks for giving me a second chance David. You didn't have to but you did and I'm so grateful for that. I love you baby," Kevin said staring into my eyes
"I love you too Kevin. I'm glad we got our second chance," I said
Kevin kissed me tenderly and then picked me up. I pulled away from the kiss smiling like a kid on Christmas.
"Where are we going?" I asked but I already knew
"To make another mini me," Kevin smirked
"5 kids is crazy," I laughed
"Well let's have fun trying," Kevin said taking me upstairs
"DADDD! KJ and Dakota are fighting!" King yelled
And the good times never last.
"He said dad so that means you David," Kevin said
"Nigga no way. It's your turn," I said
"How about we both go down there? The baby making can be for tonight," Kevin laughed
I laughed at him as he carried me outside. Overall it was a typical day in the Perez household.
But I wouldn't trade it for anything.
