Mutasim P.O.V
My eyes slowly open up as I feel myself begin to waken. Letting out a low groan, I sit up, but almost immediately, a woman's hands are pressed onto my chest. I turn to see Amy looking in my direction, her blindfold obscuring her eyes.
Amy: Please. You need rest. You're in no condition to move.
Mutasim: What happened?
Mary: Both you and mother fought each other. The clash nearly killed the both of you. You certainly fared better than Radahn against mother's Scarlet Rot.
I turn my head to see Millicent and her sisters attending to Malenia who was still naked. Her wings were gone and her sword arm was removed to make sure she didn't lash out if she woke up.
Mutasim: How long was I out?
Millicent: A few hours. We... We've done what we could but... I'm afraid your right eye is gone... I'm sorry.
I shake my head and stand up, despite Mary's advice. Looking around, I realise we were in the chamber with the lone giant flower.
Mutasim: The needle. Is it changed?
Maureen: If you mean able to subdue the Frenzied Flame, then yes. But it can't be used here.
Mary: If you wish to subdue it, you will have to travel to the heart of the storm beyond time. And to go there, you'll have to burn the Erdtree.
Mutasim: Then I know where I'm headed next.
I pick up my greatsword and the needle I'd use to subdue the Frenzied Flame. However, before I can leave, Millicent calls out to me.
Millicent: Wait. I... I know things were said. Harsh things. But you have to understand that it all came from our fear of losing you. It's no secret that Vera was fond of you, and Melina too. None of us could bare to lose you.
I shake my head.
Mutasim: I don't hate any of you so if you're trying to apologise, forget it. You were all right to be angry at me. Just as I would be right to be angry to all of you for leaving me. But I wanted that. Because I couldn't bare to see any of you in pain because of my selfish choice.
Millicent: I see.... Then, if you would allow me, I would like to aid you on your journey once more. Since my purpose here was false, I have only one wish. To walk alongside you on the path to become Elden Lord.
Turning to look at her, I see the determination to make amends in her eyes. And somehow, I felt she wouldn't take no for an answer. Sighing, I respond.
Mutasim: Fine. You can come.
Millicent: Thank you. I won't fail you. Nor will I abandon you ever again.
Amy: What... I know this sounds crazy but... What if we all came with you? Mother, I'm not so sure about. Ever since her battle with Radahn, her mind's not been her own. She still believes Miquella is in the Haligtree and that any who enter the heart of the Haligtree are trying to steal him away.
Mutasim: I really couldn't care less if the rest of you come with me. You're all big girls, you don't need my approval.
Polyanna: H-Hey! Malenia's waking up!
Sighing, I turn and see everyone focused on Malenia as she sits up.
Malenia: What... Where am I? Where is Radahn?
Mary: Mother, rest. You're... You're not well.
Malenia: "Mother"?
Maureen: We were born from your Scarlet Rot in the swamps of Aeonia.
Malenia: I see... But... Why am I here? How long have I been here?
Amy: A long time, Mother. Long enough for Radahn to be dead by the hands of a Tarnished. The same Tarnished you fought.
Malenia: I fought a Tarnished? When did...
She turns to me. Her eyes were obscured by the Scarlet Rot affecting her, but it was clear she could still see me.
Malenia: You... You killed Radahn?
Mutasim: And Godrick, and Rennala and I beat Morgott.
Malenia: Then you must be on your way to become Elden Lord. So why are you here?
Mutasim: Because I plan on burning the Erdtree using the Frenzied Flame. And I heard that by using a Golden Needle, I can subdue the Frenzied Flame when I'm done with it.
Malenia: So you sought my brother's devices and my own blood.
Mutasim: Yes. Do you have a problem with that?
Malenia: No. But I must know what happened to my brother? Is he safe? Is he alright?
Mutasim: Have your daughters tell you. I'll be in the other room.
I leave the chamber and make my way to the field of flowers. Despite most of the Haligtree being in ruins, I had to admit there was some sort of beauty in the scenery here. I take a deep breath of the air as I look upwards at the light shining down on the terrain. I lose track of time and I hear someone approaching from behind. Curious, I turn around to see Malenia and her daughters behind her.
Malenia: So Miquella really was stolen away... By Mohg... Tarnished. There is nothing I can do to make up for what I took from you. The only thing I can do is offer my services to you and I only wish to find my brother to return him home.
Mutasim: Wouldn't be the first time I've fought beside a Demigod. Fine. But it can wait for some time. If your brother's been missing for a long time, then I'm sure he can stand being missing for awhile longer.
Millicent: Mutasim!
Mutasim: What?
Millicent: You've never been this cold before.
Mutasim: Things change, Millicent. Let's just go. I'm sick of this tree, actually I'm just sick of trees in general now.
With that said, we all left the Haligtree and travelled to the Mountaintops of the Giants.
There, I'd set the Erdtree aflame and be one step closer to becoming the Elden Lord.
