Manipulation is key

We'll be just fine.

A couple of months passed since the incident with Mr. Lamon and Cc

The blonde girl thankfully, made a full recovery, there was a scar on her stomach from the surgery

But if she was honest, she was just glad that she was alive

Her relationship with Cairo was blooming, they both agreed to stop keeping secrets from each other, Cairo opened up to her more often these days

Telling her about her life, her little (or not so little) secrets

And their relationship had been great, The Thing is, they both got into the college they wanted to

But it is a bit complicated since Cairo's going to Yale, and Cc's going to Stanford

(Okay, little note, no idea if these are good colleges, I just remembered these, no idea either of those, so just accept it, what matters is they're going to college.)

Cairo was currently at Cc's house, they were on the couch, doing nothing but cuddling and watching a movie

Cc was holding Cairo, The brunette's head on Cc's chest, her leg over her hips her arm around her stomach

they were just lying peacefully, Jess Cc's mom walked in with a soft smile on her face

"So, how things are going?" Jess asked as she sat beside the two girls

"With what?" Cairo asked and lifted her head a little to look at the older woman

Jess smiled "With college and all that" The question was meant for Cairo of course, since Jess already knew what College her daughter was going

"Going great, I got accepted into Yale" Jess was surprised, but also very very happy for Cairo, especially after all the things this girl had been through

"What? That's great honey, I'm so glad and proud of you!" Jess said with a genuine smile on her face and tone

Cairo smiled a bit "Thank you" She said quietly, Cc kissed Cairo's cheek softly

"I know there'll be a distance between us, but I think we can survive that, especially after all the shit that went down this year" Cc said and sat up a bit

Cairo nodded and said "Yes, I don't think it will be that much of a problem"

Jess just smiled at them, She was simply happy for them and knew that even though they'd be far from each other, their relationship would survive

"The important thing is that you don't lose contact with each other, and still have that spark that you had in the beginning, even if you are far far away from each other, then things will be just fine girls"

Jess said, her tone soft and sincere, both girls nodded agreeing with the older woman

"I think we can make that happen" Cc said and looked at her girlfriend

Cairo hummed and nodded, but before she could respond there was a knock on the door, Jess went to answer it, it was Winnie, the brunette walked in and plopped down in between Cairo as Cc

As usual, she was trying to annoy them, Cairo rolled her eyes at her best friend, and Cc chuckled

"What's with the silence?" Winnie asked looking back and forth between the two girls

"Nothing, we were talking about college and stuff" Cc said and leaned back against the couch, Winnie nodded, and Cairo put her legs up on the couch

"Well, seems boring and very emotional, how about we change the topic? I met with a girl She's nice, and asked me out"

Cairo raised an eyebrow then just laughed a bit

"I'm not even surprised at this point, who's she?" the small brunette asked looking at her best friend

"Her name is Amy, She's a bartender in the coffee shop, cliché but I met her while ordering coffee, and she gave me her number, boom bitch"

Cc laughed and shooked her head a bit "That is cliché" She said and nudged Winnie

Cairo agreed with her girlfriend.

they talked for a little while, and then Winnie went home, Cairo and Cc went upstairs to watch a movie and just be together

as they watched the movie, Cairo's mind wondered about this whole college thing

She was afraid of losing her girlfriend, she knew long-distance relationships could be hard

And that many don't survive, She could hope that their's would be different

After all, they have been through a lot together, A sick teacher, her brother, some near-death experiences, her parents being absolute assholes

Some distance wouldn't be that hard, it can't be that hard

"What are you thinking of?" Cc asked as she paused the movie, knowing Cairo was lost in her thoughts and definitely not watching the movie

"Us, this whole long-distance thing" Cc sighed and nodded

"Yeah, I know, but it isn't gonna be that bad, we can still call, text, facetime each other, and we can see each other when we get home, it won't be that bad"

Cc tried reassuring her lover that things would be just fine

Cairo stayed silent for a little while

"Yes, but in our lives nothing ever goes smooth, at least not in mine, I mean, you've seen what sort of shit I get into throughout the year"

Cc took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before speaking

"I know, yes, sure, we've been through some crazy ass shit this year that's like out of a book or a low-budget movie, but we are still here, together, and alive if that didn't stop us from being together, then some distance wouldn't"

Cairo thought for a while, Cc was right, if that didn't stop them, why would some lousy distance would?

"I think you're right, I mean, All we've been through, Mr. Lamon, My parents, my brother, if we got through that, then this distance will be a piece of cake"

Cc smiled, she was happy she could ease Cairo's worries, even if it was just a little

"Yes, exactly baby, A little distance won't be our feared enemy" Cc said making Cairo chuckle a bit

"Yeah, fuck the distance, we'll be just fine" Cc smiled, she was happy Cairo could see that this relationship can work through long-distance

"Mhm, yes, fuck the distance" Cc said with a light laugh, Cairo looked at her girlfriend and put her hand on Cc's cheek, she caressed it with her thumb

Cc leaned into the touch, Cairo leaned closer and kissed Cc softly

The blonde kissed her back, the kiss was filled with love, emotions, passion, care...

"We'll be just fine" Cc said as they slightly pulled back, looking into each other's eyes

Cairo smiled, she knew they would be just fine, she just needed some reassurance from Cc

And now that she got it, she was alright.

Their relationship will be just fine, they'll be alright, and some distance won't stop them

After all, this year has proved to them that, if you really love someone, you don't just give up on them, and you fight for it, for each other

And they both love the other, they have proven it countless times throughout the year

Their love is undying..

And they both know that.
