The city of Shinjuku was wrapped in a rare tranquility. The scars of the recent battle against Kael Vortan in the Mytho Realm were still fresh, but the sorcerers had finally found a moment of peace. The sky, painted in hues of orange and pink, hinted at the day's end, a stark contrast to the looming darkness that would soon disrupt their brief respite.
Inside the school of sorcery, Ryota Takeda stood alone in the dimly lit library. The shelves, filled with ancient tomes and scrolls, towered over him, casting long shadows. His green eagle eyes glowed faintly as they scanned the pages of an old, dusty book he had just discovered. The words on the parchment were written in a language long forgotten, but to Ryota, they were as clear as day.
As he read through the text, a sense of unease began to settle in his chest. The prophecy detailed within these pages was one he had never seen before—a prophecy that spoke of a time when the world would face an even greater threat than the Veil of Shadows. The more he read, the more the ominous nature of the prophecy revealed itself.
It was not just a warning; it was a declaration. A new force, born from the shadows left behind by the Veil, would rise. This force, driven by the misguided interpretations of a forgotten prophecy, would seek to reshape the world in its own twisted vision. Ryota's heart pounded in his chest as he turned the pages, each word pulling him deeper into the grim future that awaited them.
"Ryota-sensei?" a voice called out from behind him.
He turned to see Ren Nakamura standing in the doorway, his orange headband contrasting with the dark surroundings. Ren's eyes, usually filled with confidence, now held a hint of concern as he noticed the seriousness etched on his mentor's face.
"What is it, Ren?" Ryota asked, closing the book and turning his attention to his student.
Ren hesitated for a moment, sensing the weight of the atmosphere. "I just wanted to check in on you. You've been in here for hours. Is everything okay?"
Ryota considered how much he should reveal to his students. The prophecy was troubling, but it was also incomplete. He didn't want to alarm them unnecessarily, yet he knew they needed to be prepared for what was to come.
"I've come across something... unsettling," Ryota finally said, his voice steady but laced with a hint of tension. "A prophecy, one that speaks of a danger greater than anything we've faced before. I believe it is connected to the remnants of the Veil of Shadows."
Ren's eyes widened slightly. "Greater than the Veil? What does it say?"
"Not much," Ryota admitted. "But it mentions a cult—a group that believes they can fulfill this prophecy to bring about a new world order. They see themselves as the harbingers of a new era, one where they will control everything. The prophecy is vague, but it implies that their success would mean the end of the world as we know it."
Ren frowned, the seriousness of the situation sinking in. "Have you told the others?"
"Not yet," Ryota replied. "I wanted to understand it fully before alarming anyone. But I think it's time we bring everyone together. This is something we need to address as a team."
Ren nodded, his usual lighthearted demeanor replaced by a resolve that matched his mentor's. "I'll gather everyone."
As Ren left the library, Ryota opened the book once more, his mind racing. The prophecy was ancient, forgotten by most, but somehow, this cult had found it—and they were determined to see it through. The thought of what they could unleash sent a shiver down his spine.
In the grand hall of the school, Ren, Miyu, Aiko, and Yumi sat around a large, circular table. Nika Kusakabe, who had returned from her quarters, joined them, her emerald eyes filled with curiosity and concern. Ryohei Kamo and Kaida Hoshino, the more senior members of the team, were also present, having returned from their missions abroad.
