Chapter 81: A Valentine's Day to Remember

Valentine's Day Morning

Birds chirped outside Ren Nakamura's window as the early morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm, golden glow across his room. The sound of his alarm clock broke through the serene ambiance, causing Ren to stir in bed. He groggily reached over to silence the alarm, and as he did, the realization of what day it was dawned on him.

Valentine's Day.

Ren's heart skipped a beat, and a faint blush colored his cheeks as the thought of his plans with Miyu later that day crossed his mind. But he quickly shook off the feeling, trying to maintain his usual cool demeanor. He pushed himself out of bed, got dressed, and headed out to meet Aiko for breakfast.

Aiko Kuroda was already waiting outside, leaning casually against a tree with a wide grin plastered across his face. His excitement was palpable, and Ren couldn't help but smile in return as he approached.

"Ready for today?" Aiko asked, his voice brimming with enthusiasm.

Ren nodded, his own excitement starting to bubble up despite his efforts to stay calm. "Yeah. Let's get breakfast first."

They made their way to a cozy little café nearby, enjoying the crisp morning air and the sight of couples already out and about, holding hands and exchanging gifts. The café was abuzz with activity, filled with the sweet scent of freshly brewed coffee and pastries. Ren and Aiko found a table near the window, where they could watch the world go by as they ate.

As they dug into their breakfast, Aiko's phone buzzed with a message. He glanced at it and then looked up at Ren with a knowing smirk. "Yumi just texted me. We're meeting at 2 pm for our date."

Ren smiled, happy for his friend. "Sounds like a good plan. Miyu and I are meeting at 3 pm."

Aiko's grin widened. "Perfect! Looks like we're both in for a fun day."

Ren's phone buzzed just as he was about to take a sip of his coffee. The screen lit up with Miyu Tanaka's name, and his heart rate instantly quickened. He quickly answered the call, trying to sound as composed as possible.

"Hey, Miyu," Ren greeted, his voice steady despite the nervous flutter in his chest. "How are you?"

"I'm fine, Ren," Miyu replied, her voice as soft and warm as ever. "I was just wondering... are you free around 3 pm today?"

Ren's heart thumped loudly in his chest. "Yeah, I'm free. What do you have in mind?"

Miyu's smile was almost audible through the phone. "I was thinking we could go to the amusement park. It's a perfect day for it."

"That sounds great. I'll see you at 3 then," Ren agreed, his excitement now unmistakable.

After finishing breakfast, the two friends went their separate ways to prepare for their respective dates. The day passed by in a blur of anticipation, with Ren trying to distract himself by going for a walk, practicing some light training, and even attempting to read a book. But no matter what he did, his thoughts kept drifting back to Miyu and their upcoming date.

The Date Begins

As 3 pm approached, Ren's nerves began to take hold. He paced around his room, checking the time every few minutes, his heart pounding faster with each passing second. Finally, it was time. He took a deep breath, grabbed his jacket, and headed out to meet Miyu.

The park was bustling with activity, filled with couples enjoying the day together. The sight only served to heighten Ren's anxiety as he scanned the area for Miyu. But instead of seeing her, he spotted Aiko and Yumi walking towards him, hand in hand and looking as happy as could be.
