"Joey? What happened?" Megan said, confused.
"Yeah... and why do I hurt everywhere? Even my insides are sore!" Jonah groaned "How did this happen and why don't we remember anything about the last few hours!"
"Well..." Joey started to explain but got cut off by Boris.
"I'll tell you what happened! When we got through the gap, as soon as we got to the end there was a pit that we couldn't see, we fell in it and got knocked out" Boris rambled so much that joey couldn't get a word in.
John looked up, which was a bit difficult due to the pain, and saw a small rectangle of dim light. "That must have been quite a fall if that was where we came from." He said pointing.
"Joey? Is that true?" Jen questioned as Joey was acting noticeably shifty and uncomfortable.
"Well... yeah... kind of..." Joey lied however if he had told them the truth it would've been too painful.
Jen didn't seem too convinced, she was now even more suspicious of Joey than she already was, but she overlooked her uneasy feelings for the love of her friends and her brother and the relief that they were all okay was stronger than the idea that Joey was hiding something. Strong enough to cover her feelings but not completely erase them.
"Hmmm... If you say so joey... But the bigger question is, where do we go now? Forgive the pun but at the moment we are stuck in a difficult situation here and I can't see a way out." Jen asked.
Looking all around there was indeed no way out of this cavern apart from where they seemingly came from, but they had no tools to climb and even with Jonah being as fit as he was, in his state at the moment and the hight of the cave, there was no way to reach it.
It was quiet for a moment, apart from the occasional sharp intake of breath from one of them due to them hurting because of their ordeal. They tried to think of a way out of this. Magic wouldn't work because there wasn't a spell that neither Megan nor Kate knew to help them in this situation. Digging their way out was out of the question as they had no idea how far this hill stretched in any direction. They had already defeated Alfonzo, joey thought, so they couldn't ask him...
Suddenly Megans eyes widened in realisation. "I've got it!" she shouted "Boris, in the legend of the six musicians, the brute is the one that has everything the group needs on a journey, right?"
"Yeeaah..." Boris said slowly, not sure where she was going with this.
"Well..." Megan gave him a knowing look which was met with a look of confusion. "Why don't you look in your bag see if there is a rope ladder or just a piece of rope that we could use to climb out of here and possibly up top where the stone egg is!"
"Oh! Right!" Suddenly realising what she meant, Boris took off his backpack and stuck his hand inside. "Snacks, bandages, extra pair of underwear, calming herbs, digging tools, building tools, a manual to summon a god, a rope ladder..."
"Stop! What was that last one!" Megan shouted.
"A manual to summon a god? How would that work?" Boris said confused.
"No not that, the one after that!" Megan explained.
"Oh! Yeah, I guess a rope ladder would work!" embarrassed Boris pulled out the ladder and laid it out on the floor.
"Right. One problem, how are we going to get it up there?" John asked and pointed to the opening.
"Is there a spell to levitate and attach it to something?" Megan wondered.
Everyone shrugged, even Boris was unsure, even though it was his rope ladder. Then joey remembered what his powers were.
"Hey guys, what if I use my..." Joey began but was interrupted again by Boris.
