Two journalists, Minorikawa Minoru and Osawa Maria, come to China, Shanghai for a major and exclusive scoop. The two wander around Shanghai, feeling amazed as to what they see. The two become seperated and Maria is targeted by people with masks. When she is about to get shot, Canaan, a friend that she befriended before, saves her and runs throughout Shanghai, also giving her a gift. Canaan then asks her if she has "it" and Maria says yes and takes out a piece of string. Canaan takes the string and ties it around Maria's pinky so she won't escape. Canaan then takes down the masked assassins successfully and Minoru ends up seeing a purple mark on one of the dead assassins. On the other hand, leader of the Snakes, a big terrorist organization, Alphard Al Sheya, is shown to be captured on a truck with the military. The military laugh it off and say that she possibly can't be, until Liang Qi and Cummings distracts the military to give Alphard enough time to kill them. Alphard successfully kills them and escapes with her allies.
