They start to pull up at home and Kaden unloads the wheelchair. They made Mack bring it. They all ride up and go to eat. As soon as they make it to the kitchen. Mack slides his shorts off in the floor and picks them up. He sits them in the wheelchair and so does everyone else. Nico plates all the food and the boys sit down to eat. They watch as Mack says his little prayer and they start to eat their food. Kaden has questions.
(K) Can I ask a few questions?
(N) Who are you asking?
(K) Mack if that is ok.
(M) That is fine baby.
(K) Why do you pray?
(M) I believe in God. I pray and read my bible. Does that bother you?
(K) It does not bother me. I am just a little confused.
(N) What are you confused about?
(K) I saw the video where you speak about your family is religious and some of them said they would not support that type of lifestyle. I also saw where you were asked to leave your church once before because you were gay.
(T) Why would you keep believing and praying then?
(M) Just because some of those people told me I can't does not mean I have to listen to them. At the end of the day, I still love the Lord, and I am going to pray and read my bible. There is more I could be doing but I don't. I could go to church, but I am not comfortable doing that. I could also tithe money to the church but if the church does not want me then they do not want my money. I still struggle with this sometimes, but I make it work in my own way.
(K) We don't think it's wrong or a sin.
(T) We have to read the bible at out private school, and they tell us it is.
(K) We just do not listen and we have googled and researched it.
(N) I am going to stop you right there. You can believe anything you want, and we will never be upset or mad.
(M) That is right.
(K) It makes us mad though. It seems like the pick and choose what to believe and what to condemn people on.
(M) That is a battle that will always be there.
(T) Well, it makes me mad and I will argue with anyone.
(K) Me too.
(N) That is fine with me.
(M) Me too, I just want you to believe it because you actually believe it. I do not want you to believe it because that is what I believe or someone else believes.
(T) We understand.
(K) We love you papa.
(M) I love both of you too.
(N) How is the pain?
(M) It is fine. I think we can come of the strong medicine soon and go back to the smaller one.
(N) Not until we go to your appointment.
(M) Ok.
(K) I am just glad you are feeling better.
(T) Me too.
(M) I am sorry about today again. I was feeling really well, and I took a chance and I know it was dumb.
(N) It was not dumb. You are tired of being cramped up inside the house all day. I am glad you had a good morning.
(T) Me too.
