Chapter 14

Nick's Point of View

"I sense another human in you, Karin." I look up at Rayne, shocked.

Karin suddenly begins chocking on her orange juice and she drops the glass on the bed. I run to her side and pick up the glass and place it on the night table and I begin patting her back, trying to calm her down, trying to make her coughing stop. Blackstar, the dog, jumps off the bed and hovers near my feet, hiding from Karin's coughing. Jake and Damien begin running around trying to find towels and tissues to clean up the mess. I look up at Stephan as I rub Karin's back, he just stands there dumbfounded. I look back up at Rayne. He's such an idiot, why would he tell her this now; he has the worst fucking timing ever! And especially when she's just waking up, eating and drinking, he couldn't have waited?

Karin seems calmer now, I grab a towel from Jake and begin sapping up the juice from the blankets.

"I'm sorry I can clean that up later for you." Karin said quietly. I look towards her and if I didn't know her any better, I'd say she looks pretty embarrassed. That's a first. Considering she always confident and forceful, to see her embarrassed is a shocker, to say the least.

"Don't worry about it." I said, attempting to reassure her. They were just sheets, I could wash them tomorrow. Besides, she's sleeping in my bed again tonight, so I can just change the sheets.

There was an awkward silence in the room as Damien and Jake were cleaning up the food and juice.

"You're pregnant?!" Stephan blurted out. I felt like slapping him. Of course she didn't want to talk about this and Stephan's too stupid to see it.

"No... I don't know.." Karin said, voice quiet and unsure. She looks nervous and scared.

"You are, I can sense it, I can see it, the signs are all there anyway. When was the last time you had your period?" Rayne asked. He doesn't even try to calm her down. He's just shoving this down her throat!

"I don't know! I don't keep track, half of the time I'm unconscious or sleeping! I don't even remember when I last took birth control!" She yells frantically. Karin's freaking out. I need to calm her down, but how? Rayne's a fucking idiot, why the hell would he tell her this now? I do the stupidest thing ever and punch Rayne in the face. He reels back surprised and that's when I shove him towards the door. He's stronger than me though, and pushes me back against the wall. Stephan and Jake pull us apart and shove Rayne out the door. I look towards Karin and she's pulling the covers off of her, trying to get out of bed. I run to her side pushing her back into bed.

"Karin, you have to stay in bed and rest and eat something." I try to push her to lay back down but she slaps my hands away.

"Get the fuck away from me! I can heal myself, you idiot." She then rests her hand on her stomach and her face squishes up as she concentrates. I don't know how healing works because I can't do it but it looks like it requires a lot of focus and concentration. She breathes heavily and tries again. Behind me I hear the door close and look to see that Jake left the room.

Karin pulls at her hair frustrated. It doesn't look like the healing's working. All of a sudden I hear Blackstar barking behind me. I turn around to see him barking towards the door. Blackstar hasn't ever been a noisy dog, he was always cooperative and quiet, but now he's furious.

The door bursts in with a smiling Rayne.

"Stop trying to deny it Karin, he's there in plain sight. You see I have extreme vision, and this can show me the past and also shows me the future. My eyes are a fucking curse you see. Jeb's a bastard and he fucked up, now I can't see clearly in present moments, I can only see a blur, my clear sight is the future and the secrets hidden within people. Your secret is your pregnancy. Stephan's is his thirst for your precious dog, Blackstar's, blood. Damien's secret is his love for human blood, the taste of Karin's especially. Oh, how he'd love a taste, he might just get it in the near future." Rayne's smile widens, sickening me further. "Jake's is his own dominance over Damien in the future. Fang's is-"
