Chapter 13
Karin’s Point of View
Rayne? Who the hell is this guy? I try to keep my cool so it doesn’t look like I was trying to get hot and heavy with Jeb…
Jeb never had a son, not that I knew of. I mean the amount of sex he has with me, did he really need a wife? Would anyone even want to have sex with such a vile man? Looking back at Rayne on top of me, he did not resemble Jeb at all, only the cold blue eyes. So whoever Jeb had sex with, she must have had a tanned complexion with rich, dark brown hair. He was pretty tall, about the same height as Jeb. His muscles were pristine and looked like he could easily knock me out. He must be working with Jeb, as a new and stronger reinforcement so I couldn’t sneak off. How many other children does Jeb have? “Adoptive” or biological? How many women has he slept with? The thought made me nauseous.
Rayne didn’t waver on top of me. He just looked down at me, a grin on his face. I wasn’t sure of what to do anymore, did Jeb come for a show or was he going to beat the crap out of Rayne, I wasn’t sure.
“Oh, don’t be so scared.” He said; a flash of brilliant white teeth captured me. His lips looked so soft; I just wanted to kiss them again. His voice was a bit scruffy, but it was hot.
I look back to the door that was now shut. I shifted my body so I could look around Rayne and to my surprise; Jeb wasn’t in the room anymore. Was this a signal of a go ahead?
I decided I didn’t want to have sex with this guy. Obviously he won’t use a condom and… and I haven’t taken the pills in a while. Fuck! How long has it been since I was on birth control. Oh, please god, tell me I’m not pregnant. I need to get my hands on a pregnancy test, and fast.
Rayne didn’t make a move; he was regarding me skeptically as if thinking, “What the hell am I getting myself into?”
I try to tap into his mind again but it was still blank. Looking at Rayne I didn’t know how to feel. He looks like a typical bad boy, with the piercings and a sly smile. His flannel shirt still revealed his chest and his tight black jeans made him look really good.
He slowly leaned down towards my neck, his lips brushing against my ear. My breath caught in my throat and I felt like I was going to die in his presence.
“It seems like someone’s coming for you, and he’s brought back up.” Rayne whispered in my ear. A shiver ran through my body, his voice was so deep and husky I barely paid any attention to what he was saying, I was so focused on how he was saying it.
In that instant Jeb’s room and Rayne faded from my vision and I was looking at the outside of Jeb’s place, from the forest. The house looked perfectly normal; the only thing was it was hiding in the forest. The outside of the house was white and grey, two stories high, nothing fancy.
An image flashes by in my head of me. Then an image of Jeb and it looked like the image was zooming into Jeb’s face, it then went into his head, literally, into his brain. Then an image popped up of Rayne on top of me, from the perspective of where Jeb was standing in the room.
I get it now; Nick is either remembering this or is sending me images. What I can tell from this is he’s either outside right now, or was a few moments ago. He had been able to read Jeb’s mind which showed him of an image of what he recently seen, Rayne on top of me. So if that’s right, that means Nick came to my rescue, and Rayne had just said someone was coming for me, had he meant Nick? And who was the backup he brought with him, police?
