Yoongi sat at the kitchen table, laptop open, typing away as he sipped his coffee. Jungkook , already dressed in his comfortable stay-at-home attire, expertly flipped pancakes on the stovetop.
"Hey, baby, did you see the news?" Jungkook asked, trying to initiate conversation.
Yoongi grunted, eyes fixed on his screen. "Mm-hmm, yeah."
Jungkook sighed and placed a plate of fluffy pancakes in front of Yoongi . "You know, you're always so busy. Can't you take a break and talk to me?"
Yoongi's fingers flew across the keyboard. "Just a minute, love. I need to finish this report."
Jungkook huffed and crossed his arms. "You're always 'just a minute' away from our conversations. It feels like you prioritize work over me."
Yoongi finally looked up, slightly irritated. "That's not fair, babe. I'm just trying to get this done."
"Fair?" Jungook's voice rose. "You're always working, Yoongi! You're never present. I feel like a single parent sometimes!"
Yoongi's expression turned defensive. "That's not true! I'm just trying to provide for us."
"Provide?" Jungkook scoffed. "You're providing for your career, maybe. But what about our relationship?"
The argument escalated, their voices growing louder until Yoongi slammed his laptop shut and stood up. "Fine! I'll go to work, and you can stay here and...and...do whatever it is you do!"
Jungkook's eyes flashed with anger. "Maybe I will! Maybe I'll find someone who actually listens to me!"
Yoongi stormed out of the house, leaving Jungkook standing alone in the kitchen, feeling frustrated and unheard.
Jungkook stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his hair and checking his appearance. He hadn't planned on meeting Jin today, but after the argument with Yoongi, he needed a distraction. He typed a quick text to Jin, and they agreed to meet at a nearby café.
As he got ready, Jungkook's mind wandered to the fight with Yoongi. He felt justified in his anger, but a nagging voice in his head wondered if he was using Jin as an escape from his problems with Yoongi.
He pushed the thought aside and focused on his appearance. He wanted to look perfect for Jin.
Once he was satisfied with his look, Jungkook grabbed his phone and headed out the door. He felt a thrill of excitement mixed with guilt as he walked to the café.
When he arrived, Jin was already there, sipping on a coffee. Jungkook's heart skipped a beat as he approached the table.
"Hey," Jin said with a smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
Jungkook's guilt momentarily disappeared as he sat down across from Jin. "Hey," he replied, his voice low and flirtatious.
As they chatted and laughed together, Jungkook's thoughts of Yoongi and their argument faded into the background. He was fully present with Jin, enjoying the attention and connection they shared.
