As Yoongi sat down at the table, Jeongkuk greeted him with a warm smile. "Good morning, husband! I made your favorite breakfast - scrambled eggs and toast."
Yoongi's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, you didn't have to do that. Thank you!"
Jeongkuk chuckled. "I wanted to. I know you've been stressed with your writing lately, so I thought I'd try to make your day a little brighter."
Yoongi took a bite of the scrambled eggs and closed his eyes in appreciation. "Mmm, these are delicious. You're the best, Jeongkuk."
Jeongkuk beamed with pride. "I try my best. So, how's your writing going? Any new ideas?"
Yoongi shrugged. "I'm working on a few things, but nothing concrete yet. Just trying to meet my deadlines."
Jeongkuk nodded supportively. "You'll get there, Yoongi. You're talented and dedicated. I believe in you."
As they continued eating and chatting, Yoongi felt a sense of gratitude towards Jeongkuk. Maybe, just maybe, they could find their way back to each other.
"Hey, Jeongkuk?" Yoongi said, as they finished up breakfast.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for being so sweet this morning. It really means a lot to me."
Jeongkuk's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "Anytime, husband. I love you."
Yoongi's heart skipped a beat at the sincerity in Jeongkuk's voice. "I love you too, Jeongkuk."
For a moment, they just looked at each other, the tension between them dissipating. Maybe, just maybe, they could find their way back to each other.
After Yoongi left for work, Jeongkuk decided to tackle the household chores. He started by tidying up the living room, putting away the books and magazines that Yoongi had left scattered around. Then, he moved on to the kitchen, loading the dishwasher and wiping down the counters.
As he worked, Jeongkuk hummed to himself, feeling a sense of satisfaction at getting their home in order. He even took the time to vacuum and mop the floors, making sure everything was spotless.
Once the house was clean, Jeongkuk grabbed his shopping list and headed out to the grocery store. As he wandered the aisles, he picked up all the essentials: milk, bread, eggs, and even Yoongi's favorite snack, chocolate chip cookies.
With the groceries loaded into the car, Jeongkuk headed back home, feeling content and fulfilled. He spent the rest of the afternoon putting away the groceries and prepping dinner for when Yoongi got home from work.
Jeongkuk cooked and ate by himself and put yoongi's food in the oven. As he was chilling he recieved a text.
Jeongkuk's eyes lit up as he read Yoongi's text. "Hey, love. Just a heads up, I'll be working late today. Don't wait up for me."
