Yoongi zipped up his bag and slung it over his shoulder, turning to face Jeongkuk with a hint of excitement. "Well, I'm off to see my mom. I'll be back in two days."

Jeongkuk looked up from his phone, a brief smile flickering across his face. "Safe trip. Say hi to your mom for me."

Yoongi's eyes lingered on Jeongkuk's face, hoping for a more enthusiastic sendoff, but Jeongkuk's expression was already back to its usual calm. "I will. Take care of yourself while I'm away."

Jeongkuk nodded, his gaze drifting back to his phone. "I will. Bye, Yoongi."

Yoongi felt a pang of disappointment at the brief goodbye, but he shook it off and headed out the door. As he walked away, he couldn't help but wonder what was really going on in Jeongkuk's mind.

After hours of driving through winding roads and scenic countryside, Yoongi finally arrived at his mom's house, a cozy little bungalow nestled in a quiet neighborhood. He pulled into the driveway, feeling a sense of relief wash over him as he shut off the engine. Stretching his arms and yawning, he climbed out of the car and took a deep breath of the fresh air.

As he walked towards the front door, it swung open and his mom, Juyoung, greeted him with a warm smile. "Yoongi, my sweet boy! It's so great to see you!"

Yoongi's face lit up with a smile as he embraced his mom, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity in her arms. "Mom, it's great to see you too! I've missed you so much."

Juyoung stepped back, her eyes scrutinizing her son's face. "You look tired, Yoongi. How was the drive?"

Yoongi shrugged, following his mom into the house. "It was fine, mom. Just long. But I'm happy to be here now."

As they entered the cozy living room, filled with memories and warm decorations, Yoongi felt a sense of peace settle over him. This was where he belonged - with his mom, in this loving and comforting environment.

" go take a shower real quick while I prepare your food." Juyoung said.

Yoongi nodded gratefully as his mom gestured towards the bathroom. "Ah, yes, a shower sounds amazing right now. I'm all grimy from the drive."

Juyoung smiled and patted his arm. "Go ahead, dear. I'll get started on some food. Your favorite, of course!"

As Yoongi showered and changed, he felt his tension ease, replaced by a sense of comfort and relaxation. He joined his mom in the kitchen, where the aroma of sizzling vegetables and savory meat filled the air.

"Mom, it smells incredible in here!" Yoongi exclaimed, his stomach growling in anticipation.

Juyoung beamed with pride. "I made all your favorites, dear. Now, sit down and tell me about your life. How's Jeongkuk?"

Yoongi hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. "He's... um... doing well, mom. Busy with his own stuff."

Juyoung raised an eyebrow. "Busy? That's all? You know I love Jeongkuk like a son, Yoongi. What's going on?"

Yoongi quickly fabricated an excuse. "Oh, no, mom, really, it's just that he had a lot on his plate with.... stuff. And I wanted some solo time with you, anyway!"

Juyoung's eyes narrowed slightly, but she didn't press the issue. "Alright, dear. I trust you. Now, let's enjoy our meal and catch up on everything else!"

As they sat down to eat, Yoongi felt a guilty for not being honest with his mom, but he pushed it aside, determined to enjoy their time together and keep his marriage troubles to himself.
