Davis sat at his desk, staring at the screen, but his mind was miles away. Everything Sadira had told him earlier kept replaying in his head. The way she had cried, the fear in her voice—it tugged at his heart in a way he hadn't expected. He wanted to do anything and everything to make her feel better, to ease her worries, and let her know she wasn't in this alone. He loved her so dearly, and the idea that she was carrying their child was both overwhelming and beautiful.

He glanced at his phone, a small smile forming on his lips as he thought about her. Sadira was back at her place, probably still resting, and he couldn't be there physically at the moment, but that didn't mean he couldn't make her day a little brighter.

With a quick tap on his phone, Davis ordered a bouquet of her favorite flowers—sunflowers and roses. He knew how much she loved fresh flowers around her apartment, and he wanted her to feel loved even when he wasn't there. But that wasn't enough. No, he needed to do more. He tapped open the DoorDash app and scrolled through the options, smiling to himself as he ordered her favorite meal—jerked chicken pasta from her go-to Caribbean spot, and of course, her favorite candy and a can of Arizona mango juice.

Satisfied with the order, Davis texted her: "Open the door in about 30 minutes, baby. I got something for you."

He smiled to himself as he imagined her reaction, knowing she'd love it. He put his phone down and leaned back in his office chair, the weight of his earlier conversation with Sadira still heavy on his mind. He loved her so much, and seeing her so unsure of herself, doubting her ability to be a great mom, had hit him hard. But he was going to be there for her, every step of the way.

Just as he was about to take a bite of the sandwich he had ordered for lunch, the door to his office swung open. Tariq strolled in with his usual swagger, laughing before Davis could even react.

"What is it now?" Davis asked, shaking his head and taking a bite of his food.

Tariq plopped down on the couch in the corner of the office, laughing. "Damn, I can't come see my favorite lawyer without you thinking I need something?"

Davis rolled his eyes, setting his sandwich down. "What do you want, Tariq?"

"Nothing, man. Got out of my classes early and figured I'd stop by," Tariq said with a shrug, reaching across the desk and snatching a piece of candy from Davis's stash.

Davis shook his head, amused. "You always eating my candy, bro."

Tariq grinned, popping a piece of the candy in his mouth. "Your candy is better than mine. You got the good stuff."

Davis chuckled, picking up his phone to check on Sadira. A few texts from her flashed on the screen, and he could practically hear her excitement in the words:

"OMG, thank you, baby! The flowers are beautiful, and you know I love me some jerk chicken pasta. You made my whole day."

Davis smiled, typing back quickly: "Anything for you, Ma. Just want to see you smile."

Tariq's eyes narrowed as he looked over at Davis's laptop screen, noticing the tabs open with baby bassinets and nursery decor. "Yo, who pregnant?"

Davis sighed, shaking his head at Tariq's nosiness. "Damn, can you mind your business for once?"

Tariq leaned forward, eyes widening. "Wait... don't tell me it's Sadira?"

"Yes," Davis said in a duh tone , clearly not in the mood to entertain Tariq's dramatics. "Sadira's pregnant."

Tariq's jaw dropped for a second before he broke into a huge grin. "Yo! You got her pregnant? That's wild, bro!" He laughed, clearly enjoying the news way too much.

Before Davis could even respond, Tariq was pulling out his phone and FaceTiming Brayden.

Brayden's face appeared on the screen, looking slightly confused. "What's good, bro? Why you calling me in the middle of the day?"

Tariq grinned, shaking the phone slightly. "Yo, guess what! Pink hair is pregnant!"

Brayden squinted at the camera, clearly not understanding. "Who the fuck is pink hair? You mean Sadira?"

"Yeah, yeah, her," Tariq said, waving it off like it didn't matter. "She's pregnant!"

Brayden's face lit up, and he looked shocked. "Wait—does Davis know?"

Tariq laughed, flipping the camera toward Davis, who was shaking his head, still amused at how ridiculous Tariq was being. "Nigga, he's the one who got her pregnant!"

"Damn!" Brayden said, his eyes widening. "Bro, congrats! That's wild. I hope it's a girl, man. Girls be softening you up."

Davis laughed, leaning back in his chair. "Thanks, man. Yeah, we just found out."

Brayden grinned through the phone, clearly hyped about the news. "Yo, this is big! You about to be a whole dad out here."

"Yeah," Davis said, still processing it himself. The idea of being a dad was huge, and even though he was excited, it still felt surreal.

Brayden nodded, looking serious for a moment. "For real though, congrats, bro. You and Sadira gonna be great parents. Y'all got that love, man."

"Appreciate it," Davis replied, his smile softening as he thought about Sadira again. He could still hear her voice in his head, the fear she had earlier. He knew this was a huge change for both of them, but he had no doubt in his mind that they would be able to handle it together.

Tariq, never one to stay quiet for too long, jumped in. "Man, forget that soft shit. We gotta throw a party or something! Celebrate this!"

Brayden laughed. "A party? For a pregnancy?"

Tariq shrugged. "Why not? We celebrate everything else."

Davis laughed, shaking his head. "Nah, man, Sadira's been sick. I'm not tryna stress her out with a party right now. Maybe later."

Brayden nodded, understanding. "Yeah, I feel you. Just make sure you take care of her, man. She's carrying your kid now."

Davis smirked. "I got it covered, trust me."

Brayden and Tariq continued talking for a few more minutes, but Davis's mind kept drifting back to Sadira. He checked his phone again, smiling as he read her latest text:

"I'm seriously crying right now. You're the best. I don't know how I got so lucky with you."

Davis typed back: "I'm the lucky one. You're gonna be a great mom, baby. I know it."

As the conversation with Tariq and Brayden wrapped up, Davis sat back in his chair, taking a moment to just breathe. Everything was changing, and fast. But it was a good kind of change. He was going to be a dad. He could picture it now—holding his baby for the first time, watching Sadira care for their child with that same fierce love she always showed him.

And no matter how much doubt she had about herself, Davis knew one thing for sure—Sadira was going to be an amazing mom. Just like he was going to do everything he could to be a great dad. They were in this together, and he wouldn't want it any other way.

As Tariq finally left his office, still babbling about baby showers and gender reveals, Davis couldn't help but smile to himself. Life was about to get a whole lot crazier but in the best way possible. He was ready for it. They were ready for it.
