Davis couldn't stop smiling as he leaned over and kissed Sadira's forehead, watching her sleep peacefully. The last few weeks had been incredible, with her glowing even more than usual, her belly growing, and her energy slowly returning. The baby shower was just around the corner, and everything was coming together perfectly. But there was something else on Davis's mind-something that had been weighing heavily on him for months. It was time to take the next step. He wanted to propose to Sadira.

Carefully, he slipped out of bed, making sure not to disturb her, and headed downstairs to grab his keys. Today was the day. He had been planning this for a while, and it had to be perfect. Sadira and he had gone through so much, and with twins on the way, he knew it was time to make her his forever. The proposal was long overdue.

After a short drive, Davis arrived to pick up Tariq and Brayden. As usual, Tariq was quick to jump into the passenger seat, full of energy. "Yo, where we headed?"

Davis kept his cool, not giving too much away. "Just gotta make a stop."

Brayden, sitting in the back, raised an eyebrow. "A stop? This better not be one of your secret missions, bro."

Tariq joined in, laughing. "Yeah, man, you've been acting all mysterious lately."

Davis chuckled but didn't answer. He couldn't wait to see the look on their faces when they figured out what he was really up to. The drive wasn't long, and soon they pulled up to the front of a high-end jewelry store. As soon as the car came to a stop, Brayden leaned forward, eyeing the store suspiciously.

"Why we at a jewelry store?"

Ignoring the question for a moment, Davis stepped out of the car, but Tariq was right behind him, not letting it slide. "Nah, for real, what's going on? What you got planned?"

Finally, Davis gave a small grin, turning to face them. "I'm gonna propose to Sadira."

Both Tariq and Brayden stopped in their tracks, their jaws dropping. Tariq's eyes widened with excitement. "What?! Bro, for real?"

"Yeah," Davis nodded, keeping his voice calm but feeling a rush of adrenaline. "It's time."

Brayden slapped him on the back, grinning from ear to ear. "Damn, you're really locking it down. That's wild."

With his boys by his side, Davis walked into the jewelry store. The cool air hit as they entered, and the soft hum of quiet music filled the space. The glass cases sparkled under the lights, rows of diamonds and gold reflecting back at them. The jeweler approached with a warm smile, her eyes scanning the group.

"How can I help you today?"

Davis spoke confidently. "I'm looking for an engagement ring."

Tariq elbowed him playfully. "This is huge, bro. You better get the best one."

The jeweler led them to a display, pulling out several rings. The variety was overwhelming-different cuts, sizes, bands. Each one sparkled, but none of them seemed quite right. Davis stood in silence for a moment, focused on finding the perfect one. He needed something that would make Sadira light up, something that showed just how much he cherished her.

Then, he saw it.

An oval-cut diamond ring, surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds, resting on a sleek, delicate gold band. It was simple yet elegant, not too flashy but absolutely stunning. The moment he laid eyes on it, he knew it was the one.

"This one," Davis said, pointing to the ring with confidence.

The jeweler smiled, recognizing the certainty in his voice. "Excellent choice. It's beautiful."

Tariq leaned in, peering at the ring. "That's the one, man. She's gonna flip when she sees that."

Brayden nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that's perfect for her."

Davis picked up the ring, feeling the weight of it in his hand. It wasn't just a piece of jewelry-it was a promise, a commitment to the woman he loved, the mother of his future children. The thought of slipping it onto Sadira's finger made his heart swell with emotion.

After completing the purchase, the group walked back out to the car. Tariq couldn't stop buzzing with excitement. "Yo, when you gonna do it? You got a plan?"

Davis shrugged slightly, thinking it over. "Not sure yet. I want it to be the right moment."

Brayden chimed in, leaning forward again. "You should do it at the baby shower. It'd be a whole surprise, with everybody there. She wouldn't expect it."

The idea hung in the air for a moment. The baby shower was coming up soon, and Davis knew how excited Sadira was for it. They had decided not to do a gender reveal, wanting to let everyone find out at the shower that they were having twins-a boy and a girl. But proposing at the baby shower? That could be a game-changer.

"I don't know," Davis said thoughtfully. "I was thinking something more private, something just for us."

Tariq nodded, understanding. "Yeah, I feel you on that. Either way, it's gonna be dope. She's gonna be over the moon."

The drive back was filled with quiet excitement, and when they pulled up to the house, Davis tucked the ring box away carefully, making sure it was safely hidden for now. The house was calm, the sun casting a soft golden glow through the windows.

As Davis walked upstairs, he found Sadira in the nursery, standing in the middle of the room, her hands resting gently on her growing belly. The walls had already been decorated for the upcoming shower-Mickey and Minnie Mouse, with soft pink and blue accents scattered around the room.

He wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Thinking about the twins?"

Sadira smiled, leaning back into him. "Yeah. It's all happening so fast, you know? Sometimes I can't believe it."

Davis kissed her cheek, feeling the warmth spread through him. "Everything's gonna be perfect. Just wait and see."

She turned in his arms, looking up at him with those soft, loving eyes. "I know it will be... because we're doing this together."

Davis gazed down at her, feeling his love for her grow even deeper. Soon, their twins would arrive, and their lives would change forever. But before that, there was one more thing he needed to do-to ask her to be his, for life.

That moment would come soon enough.
