Charlie stepped back from the mirror, her hair now neatly styled in an elegant updo that framed her face beautifully. The black boots completed the look perfectly, and she felt a surge of confidence as she twirled in front of the mirror. Nick's reassurance had made a significant difference.

"Okay, I think I'm ready," she said, her voice carrying a note of determination.

Nick, who had been adjusting the last details of their plans, looked up from his phone. "You look stunning," he said, his admiration evident in his gaze. "I think everyone's going to be really happy to see you."

Charlie smiled, her nerves momentarily easing. "Thanks. I just hope this goes well."

Nick took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "It will. You've got this. And remember, I'm right here with you."

They gathered their things and headed out the door, with Nick making sure to lock it behind them. The sun was starting to dip lower in the sky, casting a warm, golden hue over the city. It was the perfect evening for a reunion.

As they drove to the restaurant, their conversation flowed easily. Nick and Charlie talked about their favourite memories with the Paris squad and when they went to pairs for a school years ago, which helped Charlie shift her focus from the upcoming reunion to more pleasant memories. The closer they got to the restaurant, the more Charlie's anxiety seemed to fade, replaced by the excitement of reconnecting with old friends.

Arriving at the restaurant, they were greeted by the cheerful clinking of glasses and the murmur of happy conversations. The outdoor seating area was charming, adorned with fairy lights and lush greenery. It felt both intimate and lively, a perfect setting for a reunion.

Nick led Charlie through the entrance, scanning the tables for their friends. It didn't take long before a group of familiar faces turned their way, their expressions lighting up with joy.

"Charlie! Nick!" A voice called out from the center of the group.

It was Darcy, one of the first to spot them. They stood up and waved enthusiastically. Beside them, Elle and Tao grinned, clearly thrilled to see the couple.

As they approached, the group came together for a warm group hug. Charlie felt a wave of affection wash over her, and her nerves eased further. It was clear that everyone was genuinely happy to see them.

"Charlie, you look amazing!" Elle exclaimed, pulling her into a tight hug. "I love that dress!"

"Thank you," Charlie said, her smile growing wider. "It's so good to see all of you."

The group settled into their seats, and the conversation flowed effortlessly. There was laughter and the sharing of stories, and Charlie began to feel like she was exactly where she was meant to be. The Paris squad's presence was comforting, like a warm blanket wrapping around her.

As the meal progressed, Nick noticed that Charlie seemed more relaxed and animated, joining in on conversations and sharing her own updates. He felt a surge of pride and relief, knowing that the evening was turning out to be everything they had hoped for.

Just as dessert was being served, Charlie took a deep breath, feeling the moment was right. She glanced at Nick, who gave her a subtle nod of encouragement. She knew this was the time to share what she had been holding onto.

Clearing her throat, Charlie looked around at her friends. "There's something I want to share with you all," she began, her voice steady but filled with emotion. "I've been wanting to tell you this for a while, and tonight feels like the right moment."

The group fell silent, their attention focused on Charlie. The warmth in their expressions was encouraging. Nick Squeezed Charlie's hand as he always does when he knows Charlie is sharing something important, the small gesture also calm her down and is a gentle reminder to breathe.

"I'm gender fluid," Charlie continued. "Sometimes I feel more feminine, and sometimes more masculine. I wanted to share this with you because it's a big part of who I am."

There was a brief moment of quiet before Elle's eyes lit up with understanding. "Charlie, that's wonderful. Thank you for sharing this with us. We're really happy you told us."

Issac and Darcy nodded in agreement, their smiles supportive. "Yeah, we've always got your back," Tara said.

Nick reached over and squeezed Charlie's hand, his support unwavering. "I'm really proud of you," he whispered.

Charlie felt a sense of relief and gratitude wash over her. The acceptance and love from her friends meant more than she could put into words. The evening continued as the group had a few questions asked by everyone so the group was on the same page.
Tara started the Q&A "So Charlie what are your pronouns?" "Um well my current pronouns are She/ Her and have been for a few weeks." Next was Darcy "Is it ok to still call you Charlie or do you have a preferred name you want to go by?" "When I told Nick he also asked and my response was, Charlie is pretty natal as it is but who knows maybe down the line but as of right now no." Charlie kept answering the questions and explained her point of view and everyone understood. After all their friendship group literally had someone under the LGBTQIA+;
L for Tara and Darcy, G for Charlie (both gay and now gender fluid), B for Nick, T for Elle A for Issac (Acsexal) & Tao (Ally.) Charlie knew that this reunion would be one she cherished for years to come.

As the night drew to a close and the group prepared to say their goodbyes, Charlie and Nick walked hand in hand back to their car, their hearts full. The day had been everything they had hoped for and more—a testament to the strength of their friendships and the supportive network they had around them.

Charlie looked up at Nick, her eyes shining. "Thank you for being here with me."

Nick smiled, his expression soft. "Always."

Together, they drove out into the night, ready to face whatever came next, knowing they had the love and support of their closest friends to carry them through.
