Theo's pov
With that, Dakota walked away and shut the door behind her. Luna glanced at the door and then back at me, asking, "Why did I have to come here quickly?"
I shook my head, smiling as I took in how adorable she looked. She was wearing a white tank top with a panda face on it, black skinny jeans, and Converse sneakers. Her outfit was completed with three bracelets and a black beanie, her wavy platinum blonde hair flowing freely
Her outfit was a refreshing change from the usual black leather jacket and jeans I'm accustomed to seeing her in. I had to admit, she looked even more stunning this way. I smirked and said, "Dakota was just joking, but you look absolutely beautiful in that."
She rolled her eyes and said, "My eyes are up here, and if she was just joking, then I'm leaving." As she turned to walk away, I seized the moment, grabbing her hand and pulling her back. She looked at me, then down at our hands. I released her and said, "Wait, I have something to tell you."
Scratching the back of my neck, she glanced at the ground before meeting my gaze again with a smile, "And what is that, handsome?"
I couldn't help but smile back. I loved making her smile genuinely. "I've been thinking a lot lately," I said, letting my words hang in the air.
Her eyes widened with curiosity. "About what?"
"About you," I replied.
She looked momentarily speechless, and I could've sworn I saw a blush rise to her cheeks. "Now who's lost for words?" I teased.
She smiled, attempting to respond. "Um, I—um..."
I laughed, charmed by how easily I could make her speechless. "God, I'm so in love with you."
"Quiet, I need you to hear me out," I said. She nodded, and we both settled on the couch. I gave a reassuring smile and began, "A few years ago, before I met you, I wasn't like this. Believe it or not, I was actually happy."
She teased, "You happy? I'd love to see that."
I smirked and replied, "Well, I can show you sometime."
She grinned, "I can't wait to see."
I continued, "Back then, I had a girlfriend named Mia. We were in love—or so I thought. Little did I know, she was an undercover cop. I was 15, she was 16, and she helped her dad, the chief of police. I had no idea she was working undercover while we were together."
When I looked up, I noticed Luna's expression—pissed and sad, her beautiful purple eyes filled with emotion. She said, "That's so messed up. She shouldn't toy with people's feelings. What a bitch." I gave her a small, appreciative smile.
"I know," I replied. "One night, while I was asleep, the police stormed my house and arrested me." The memory of that night flashed back vividly. I saw Luna's anger, and if I were her, I would be too. She seethed, "That's insane. I'd kill that bitch."
I smiled and placed my hand over hers, calming her down a bit. I continued, "The police said that, as the son of the leader of the Black Knights mafia, I was involved in the most killings and missions, which was complete bullshit. I ended up in jail for two years, even though I was a minor. They've always hated my family because we're the second most dangerous mafia in the world."
She looked genuinely shocked. "You are?" she whispered, barely audible. I smiled and replied, "Well, I was part of them. Then I started my own gang, which grew into a full-fledged mafia. After I got out, my dad sent me to school. That's where you came into my black-and-white world and brought color back into it."
She smiled back at me and began to speak, "Well, that bitch is lucky I don't know her. Otherwise, she'd be getting her ass kicked by me. I'm sorry for what she did to you. I'll always be here for you—just a call away. I'm no two-faced snake like her."
I pulled her into a hug and then stepped back. "That's why I've been a cold-hearted asshole to everyone. I really don't trust anyone."
She smiled and said, "You're not cold-hearted to me." I looked at her and said, "There's something about you that makes me feel like I can trust you with my soul." She blushed, meeting my gaze. "I don't know what to say."
I smirked, seeing my chance. "All you need to say is yes." She looked at me, puzzled. "To what?"
"To a date with me this Sunday," I said with a smirk. Her face lit up, but I heard two small screams in the distance—my sisters, no doubt. Luna smiled and said, "I'm sorry, but I'm busy that night."
Not the answer I hoped for, I asked, "What are you doing?"
Her smile widened, and she giggled, looking even cuter. "I'm going on a date with a handsome gentleman who makes me smile and laugh."
I grinned. "Guess the guy's lucky. He said he'd pick you up at 7."
She smiled, and I couldn't help myself—I leaned in, and she did too. We shared a brief, sweet kiss. She pulled away, smiling, and said, "I'm going to get Dakota and Renee so we can train." She headed for the door, but I stopped her with another quick kiss before she left.
I couldn't believe what just happened. I'm head over heels for her and can't wait to see what tomorrow brings at the get-together.
