I wake up hearing a loud buzz. I roll over onto my back and stare at the ceiling and forget where i am, what has happened. I come back into reality and look around the room. My mother is sleeping cuddled with Maggie and my dad cuddled with her. I was on the other side of the room without Alyssa to cuddle with. I started to silent cry, I had perfected that. Buzz Buzz. What is that? A bug? No. I brought my phone. I looked around the blankets and found my pink studded phone.
When I saw the notification I truly could not believe my eyes. It was Alyssa. Alyssa was really texting me. I replied as fast as possible.

MESSAGE SENT
Knowing that Alyssa was alive and safe raised my hopes that we can be safe. I decided to get everyone up and tell them what had just happened.
"Mom! Dad! Maggie! Get up!" I whisper yelled. "What the hell Abbey?" Maggie said angrily. "Guys, Alyssa, she's alive. She just texted me. She said she's okay!" My mother gasped and her and my dad hugged her and cried tears of joy. "We need to get her. We have the supplies and a car" I told them, "God knows how long she'll be alive." My dad looked at my mom and sighed, "Listen, we can't just leave. We need to see if someone will come and rescue us. We need to do what's best for us." My mouth shot open at what they just said and i started to cry. "What's best for us is to get Alyssa. I understand she is there and we are here but we can't leave her alone! We can't just not get her! I can't believe you would be so selfish!" It all flowed out of me. Before my mom or dad could say anything there was banging on the cabin.
What did i do? I started a hell storm that's what. "Abbey what have you done?" my mom said. "I..I'm sorry. What do we do? I'm scared." The banging got louder and eventually it was all around the cabin. We went from seeing no Eaters in 2 days, to having over 20 trying to make their way in. "Being quiet is the key everyone. We'll wait it out they will eventually leave."
The banging goes throughout the night and i can't sleep so i decided to take first watch. I can't tell how many are still there but i know the banging has quieted some. The banging, dad's snoring, mom's sleep crying, it's all so...so annoying. I feel like I'm going mad. I start silent crying. Wishing Alyssa was here to comfort me and hold me.
I woke up to bright light shining through the cracks in the wood on the windows. No banging. I went over to them and looked through. No sign of Eaters anywhere. I looked over to see that the rest of my family was gone. I started to panic and called for them around the cabin. No reply. My panic got even higher when i noticed the door's wood broken off. I was supposed to keep watch, i thought. I ran outside and they were still nowhere to be found. I ran back inside and laid fell to the floor crying when my mom comes inside and runs over to me.
"Hey...Abbey. What is it?" my mom said comfortingly. "I..I thought you guys left me. I was so scared." I said crying. "Oh baby..I'm so sorry. We won't ever leave you." my mom replied holding my head to her chest.
