I hear footsteps come over to the bathroom door. Krista opens the door and stares down at me. "Where's Alex?" I cry at her. "Out there. We need to get going" she replies dragging me out of the bathroom. I see Alex, alive, sitting on the bed. The man that was trying to help was lying on the floor in a pool of his own blood. I gasped and started crying again. "Oh shut up! Your crying is getting on my nerves" Krista yelled at me. I shut up and walked, Alex's hand in mine.
She took us out into the car and we were on our way. She said it would be an hour till we get to the area my house was in. We frequently stopped so she could come to the back to check on us since we were in the back and it was a vehicle with a privacy window. Krista opens the backseat door and asks if we're okay. "Actually me and Alex have to pee" I say grabbing Alex's hand. I squeeze her hand and she nods. Krista sighs "Okay but hurry up."
Alex and I go into the bathroom at the store we stopped at. I tell Alex my escape plan and she nods in agreement. She hasn't said anything since she witnessed Krista killing the nice man we were with. I swiftly look around the bathroom and notice a window, big enough for me and her to fit through. I run up to the window and open it, boosting Alex up to it first. As I climb up, I hear Krista trying to open the door, I locked it so it should take her a while.
"Open the door! It's been long enough" she yells. The window isn't high up so I jump down, take Alex's hand, and start running. I hear a loud gunshot but don't look back. Alex and I jolt into some woods nearby. Immediately I see Eaters everywhere. I pick up a large stick for a weapon. An Eater comes up behind Alex and grabs her. She screams and I run over and hit the Eater in the head. Alex is crying by now but we are on the run still.
We come out of the woods by a Walmart and I instantly know where we are. About 15 minutes away is my house and I smile. I head the direction to my house. I would be seeing Alyssa soon. Tears start streaming down my face. "What's wrong Abbey?" Alex asks me. Her first words since the killing. "I'm just happy Alex. I'm going to see my sister soon."
