By the time we get back to the house it's pitch black outside. David, still mourning, mumbles to himself in the back about how he is going to tell Melissa. Everyone else silently walks ahead of him. We slowly enter the house through the window and Ashlea and Melissa meet us downstairs. Melissa can tell something is wrong the instant we walk into the den.
"What happened? Where's Andrew? David, where's Andrew?" she says rushing up to everyone. "Melissa I'm so sorry. Andrews gone" David says crying. Melissa gasps and starts crying and hugs David. Me, not knowing what to do, rubs Melissa's back and tries to comfort her, unsuccessfully. Just then there was a small knock.
I grab my pistol from its holder and go upstairs. I climb out of my window and see two little girls standing by the door. Moving up slowly, I whistle to catch their attention. When I see who it is I gasp.
"Abbey?" I say quietly, tears starting to swell up in my eyes. "Alyssa, I missed you so much" she says. I run over to her, pick her up, and do a slight spin around crying as I do so. "Abbey! You made it. I'm so happy right now. Wait, who's that?" I ask her. She turns around like she didn't remember she had a friend with her, "Oh that's Alex. I found her in the woods."
Excited, I bring her inside to meet everyone. As we walk into the room everyone sees my smile and asks me who she is. "This is Abbey. My little sister. When I was left here she was takin too but she came to find me" I tell everyone. Alex slowly walks to the other side of Abbey.
"Alex?" Someone says from the back of the room. Alex looks up startled and looks around. "Mommy? Daddy?" she says as Emily and Rob walk to the front of the group. "Alex! Oh my god!" Rob says grabbing Alex into his arms and falling to his knees. He starts sobbing loudly and Emily joins. "Di..did you bring her here?" Emily asks Abbey. "Yeah. She was trapped by Eaters in the woods and I killed them and saved her" she says. Emily walks over to Abbey and hugs her, "Thank you. Thank you so much Abbey."
